Points as they run sh!tshow

Agreed we all follow the sport more closely than 99% of fans and if we’re saying it’s hard to follow, it’s hard to follow.

At one point one of the guys was 22 points down, makes one pass and has the lead? How what? And what’s the Olympic scoring got to do with anything? Why not pay points per moto already?

It’s fucking chaotic. What Motorsports series uses Olympic scoring for anything? Motogp? Mxgp? F1? NASCAR? Rally? Any top 5 Motorsport series? Just us? Cool.

I don't know who was doing the calculations, but the math was off.

Yea all night long they were saying things that made absolutely no sense lol. 

It made sense to me. Remember that the triple points make for some interesting point swings when championship contenders pass each other. You go from 2nd to 1st and gain 9 points while the other guy loses 9 points. That's 18 points different in the over/under stat they were displaying.

Also, Jo only needed 4th to beat Haiden but he needed 3rd if Hammaker won the 2nd moto; nobody was focused on that until it became a real possibility.

If understand correctly, overall is olympic scoring with second moto tie breaker. Points then issued for overall.

That’s what got confusing for me. Idgaf to learn or keep track of all of this when all of us already know how to track traditional points. But mixing Olympic with double and triple and quintuple duper bonus extra points is fucking aids.

It gets complicated when distant 3rd in points is winning and 1 of the 3 in contention is a DNF and leader in points is working his way up toward the front.

Do we really need a calculator and a slide rule just to have a feel for who is ahead?  Falcon may like this stuff, but half the fans and all the riders never finished high school.  Just use olympic scoring added together, lowest total wins.  We don't need multiple look up tables/dynamic points ratios. If its too confusing for the professional broadcaster, its too confusing for the audience.

The points deal is absolutely stupid. 

The points system is stupid, and the wild card races are dumb when all but 1-2 guys get into the night show. 

Well basic greetings and basic social interaction is too complicated for Ricky so yeah any points discussions are likely over his head.

Get rid of this seperate series bullshit with its retarded points scheme and bring back the grand national championship. The guy who scored the most points from start to finish and these 3 whatever they are rounds is the overall champion. Give a big bonus so it incentivizes teams and riders to race the whole season.

Agree 100%.  The point system is a gimmick and not worthy of 'Championship' competition.  

And Weigant needs to calm the f down, it is all just so fake.  It is right down there with Nascar/WWE fakeness.
