Anybody know what’s going on with masterpool

Man he has an awesome riding style and great speed when he can uncork it all but his pro career is one of the biggest head scratchers I’ve ever witnessed. I feel like there’s so much potential there.

He is an amazing rider to watch around a track. But so is Axel Hodges and he is not a pro racer. Pastrana may have been the exception but he didn't last too long at pro-level racing.

I didn't think Masterpool looked all that fast though riding SX. May not be his thing (Thomas Covington?). Hope he shows up for the outdoors.

I'm sitting at his facility right now actually. He has been pounding out motos on the outdoor tracks here. Kid is flying.

If you came to his facility, you'd see they are monetized just fine. It's a beautiful space that's open to the public and full of full time people training all week long.

Idk if he is racing outdoors or not, but he def has the speed to do it right now. But if he doesn't, there's plenty of opportunity here on his property still being a part of the Moto life.

I've been there, it's only about 1.5 hours from my house. I saw their facility when it was at River Valley as well before the current location.

I was referring to him making a living as a professional motocross racer. Yes, if he runs out of teams to quit or get fired from he always has Jerry's facility as a back up plan. I assumed he still wants to race though.

Does anybody know if it's him or his Dad being the reason for so many team splits?

You know what they say when people assume things right?

Like I said, maybe he races, maybe he doesn't I honestly have no clue, but the family is all super nice people who have literally given more to this sport than 99.9 percent of people.

They obviously have some concerns when it comes to racing SX. Can anyone blame them after what they have all gone through as a family?

Ty is on a KX250 now, with some help from Team Green and PC and a few others. Planning on racing a few of the last 250 West rounds, before making an assault on the outdoors.

Hope he does better than he did at the start of Supercross -  Ty has some big talent, but not enough structure in his routine IMHO.

He needs to be training with other fast guys either in California or Florida, no one he trains with now at home is close to the speed of the top 15 AMA guys he has to race in supercross.

Riding alone in Texas is no way to gauge your training or race craft.

There's a few people on here that are terrible speculators.

Zoom, knows whats up, & chasetwo79 knows some too.

Off the bike Ty trains hard, and on the bike Ty trains hard. Supercross might not be totally his thing, but if he does a round or 2 on Green, expect better results than the few west coast earlier this season.

There are many pros that train and utilize Masterpool's HIS956 facility and run laps with Ty. Maybe not top 15 AMA guys as Brent says, but plenty of fast pros any given week. I've seen him run 30 minute moto's and his speed is good.

I think his injuries have kept him from being consistent as he would like. His speed in SX has not been quite what even Ty has hoped for. Its very hard to run a great "team" program when you don't have all the support you really need, and injuries have set him back on opportunities he's had. But I know for sure he's in shape, pushing hard, only looking forward. He will be ready to make a run outdoors. Ty is a racer, He will get your attention yet this year

No one questions his speed or talent, it’s that he and his family make absolutely terrible choices for his career. After his redbud star yamaha ride his dad had said they didn’t want to race after to end the year with a good ride lol.

Do you have a source on that (really asking not being a douche). If that is true, how unbelievable would that be lmao. Imagine being under contract for a factory team and doing well and then saying you aren't going to perform the job you were hired to do so you can get a better contract the next season Laughing.

Also, is OP the same Kimble Jett from Loretta's from Pro sport and College class at LL last year? If so, you rip dude!

He's pounding motos out as I type this. And he's going fast. I have raced with and watched pros race for 30 years. I also ride and watch plenty of Pros in Cali and Florida when I'm there and his outdoor speed is pretty damn good. His endurance is good as well.

The Kawi fits him well and he is making it look good.

Also, his parents are some of the nicest people I've ever met in this sport. They also lost a son to this game and still live the life daily as an entire family unit. How anyone can be in here trashing them is wild to me.

He's clearly an incredible rider.  It does seem the decision making is way off on a pro level because he should 100% be on a strong team and the fact he is not tells us one of two things.  He doesn't want to or they don't want to.  Talent and speed is not the issue.

Marchbanks comes to mind on PC.  Talent and speed was not the issue.

I don’t think anyone is questioning Ty’s speed or talent on the motorcycle, clearly he has those things covered.

Jerry is one of the nicest and considerate race dads you will meet, they gave me some great advice on how to deal with race day stuff and I really appreciate it.

I also know that Jeremy tried to give Ty everything he needed to do well for a few years at AEO, but he was just not producing any results.

I think for sure that Ty is a much better outdoor racer than he is at supercross- but in the USA if you can’t deliver in SX you are not going to be employed by a factory team.

maybe trying MX2 could be a possibility, there are teams looking for riders, but I’m not sure how old Ty is…

Zero issues with his speed and effort but he/his family (for whatever reason) have burned too many bridges by making poor choices on where he trains etc. that teams are weary about hiring him at this point. This has been reported on a few podcasts (I believe ML said it once or twice). You hear things like “the team and Ty didn’t see eye to eye” and unfortunately, news travels fast in the pits. Love his style and hope the best for him.

There's no one questioning Ty's speed or abilities, it's all down to not wanting to deal with some of the baggage. Teams aren't blind, they see what he's capable of...it's just that everyone talks.

Dude, where was anyone trashing them?

We get it, you are parked there right now and want to be on the "in" with the family....just because someone here has an opinion that is different or more negative than yours doesn't mean they are trashing him.

The kid has had several shots at making it as a Pro, we've all seen how that worked out.  It's not exactly a giant leap for someone to think that his time has potentially passed him by.

I have no opinion on the kid either way.  I loved it when he pulled that holey and pointed to the sky, that's for sure.  However, I can easily see how at this point he could just fade off as another "what could have been"....hell, there's nothing wrong with that, seems like he'd probably still live a good and happy life.

Dude I've known them for years. I've lived in Truckee and Reno when they were around. We share so many mutual great friends.

I haven't once said I know what's going on with his career.

And I've been in this industry for over 25 years and know more then enough pros to not have to try to "fit in"

It's more the way people here speak that blows my mind. Internet losers for sure who think they know anything.

It's pretty crazy. But do you my guy.

Ahhhh your in the industry.  My apologies your holiness.

Now it makes more sense why you are so sensitive to anyone with a thought that may not be just blowing sunshine up a riders ass.  Gotta keep licking them balls to stay in the cool kids crowd right?

Sorry that some of us like to discuss and talk about how things are going.....newsflash, not all of these guys are killing it all the time and it's ok to talk about it.

Anyway, you do you as well.  The rest of us with an opinion will just continue to be internet losers I suppose.

As an example, BarX staff was warned by many not to hire him, and given the reasons it hadn't worked out in the past. They said they could "manage him", but that didn't last long. When I had my short-lived operation a friend from Texas kept telling me to look towards him but I was also given advice by others why not to pursue it...then I watched AEO experience what I was warned of. There was a Pro Circuit test with him at one point, in the winter of 2020.

I didn't say I work in the industry anymore. I did for years. I raced at a high level. My family owned one of the most popular tracks in Florida for 30 years. I know the work it takes to do everything they are doing. That's my only skin in the game.

I simply chimed in to tell people that he was riding and looking fast.

I have zero reasons to kiss anyone's ass in this industry ever again. I just vouch for people I consider good people. It's called integrity.

Seems like he needs to learn how to deal with management properly if he wants to move forward.

Probably just your standard spoilt pro racer self sabotage program (I could have won - but....reason 1,2,3,4,5)

He will probably regret his actions later in life

Ever seen a young NBA player or NFL player on 4 different teams in 4 years ? The answer is just like ML512 is saying.

All the talent in the world but something is not right behind the scenes.

So my assumption that wasn't really an assumption was correct, he does want to race. I hope he has a great summer!

As for the family yes we all know them to be very friendly and kind, nobody is saying otherwise. I've also found Tony Alessi and Big James to be extremely friendly and kind in the right environment, but I still question some of their decisions and interactions when it came to their kids' careers. I think Ty would benefit from some changes in his program, but that's just my personal opinion and professional philosophy when it comes to managing the careers of professional athletes. Nothing personal against the family.
