I don't know why Beta let him go, he was a low cost star rider for them. Be interesting to see where he goes and if he stays running his own team.
Def a weird one, in his last vlog he was talking about getting ready for USA enduro cross etc. To me looking from the outside he has had minimal factory help yet the exposure he generated.
This would be a great opportunity for Triumph to pick up a star if they are seriously entering the off-road space soon, plus he is an Englishman. 4-strokes in Endurocross/Super-Enduro are already common so it could work.
From the start it looked like Beta was giving Walker minimal support. On one of his Vlogs it sounded like he was using the same bikes for a couple years. The rest of the Beta rider pool is not nearly at Walker's level of exposure or personality.
hmmm this is coming from inside my weird head but MAYBE stark varg will be able to run in super enduro now they changed the series promoter, which seems more open to new stuff and dont have investments in ktm, like last promoter abc communication had soooo.... ?
i wonder if it was really mutual? hopefully walker found something better. i saw Josh Strang left sherco the other day, maybe they pick him up?

There are rumors of him going to sherco. Or at least they are in contact apparently
Sherco and Josh Strang split maybe they are going to snatch up Jonny in exchange
Id put money on Walker to Triumph.
Thing is he prefers 2 strokes. He might be ok with a 4 stroke for Endurocross/SuperEnduro but for everything else, especially hard enduro, a 4 stroke isn't a realistic option.
That sounded like a weird deal too, seemed like he was happy with the bike earlier this year and didnt really have too many mechanicals. Sounds like a money or contract issue I guess.
Come on Yamaha step up
FIM rules stopped the Stark being in super Enduro.
Can’t see it being mutual when he said he was making plans, why do that? Unless plans already in place for different bike…..
Such a bizarre move if beta dropped him. They barely had to support him it seemed and they had one of the best riders in the world. I’m hoping he can still come race US EnduroX. He adds a lot to the series. Great rider and fella.
I can't be the only one.....
Yep, he said in his previous vlog that he'd shipped engines & suspension to USA for the Endurocross series.
He seems happy for someone supposedly without a ride
I was talking to a factory pro and he predicted Jonny will make a Triumphant return
Gotta admit, that’s what I thought of.

Good interview with Jonny about his split with Beta

He is totally talking about Bolt riding a 4t in extreme. Triumph?
Walker and Billy Bolt fan here those guys are animals
In my opinion those are two of the best overall riders in the world. They can ride off-road, moto, and trials at an extremely high level. Such a complete skill set. Walker to triumph hopefully happens. He deserves a ride with adequate support and it just didn’t seem like he was getting that at Beta, at least from the outside looking in.
Billy won' be on Triumph next year...
Beta sort of did the same thing way back when Cody Webb left. They couldn’t afford to pay him his value, and while they want a presence in extreme Enduro, they don’t have the budget to do something larger.
I’m actually surprised Johnny lasted this long given it seemed like he was running his own deal and having to work through local dealerships when he traveled.
Regarding Sherco, it would be great if they could pick him up and stay away from having people race their 450 off-road. That doesn’t seem to have worked at all in the last several years.
On the Webb thing. He didn’t leave because of money. He wanted to be on KTM which is where almost all off-road guys think they want to end up.
Beta USA tends to compensate their riders well. That goes back to off-road, trials and now SX. Colt took a pay cut when he left and from what I hear Benny is making more than he would have expected to.
It is crazy to find out how little support he actually recieved from Beta.
Hope he finds a ride and can make it back to the US for Endurocross.
He was getting full support from Beta USA when he came to the US for Endurocross, van, mechanic, bikes etc. He just brought over his own special motor & suspension.
Just didn't get much from Beta factory when racing in Europe.
Sounds like he’ll be doing Triumph in Endurocross.
Would love to see this, all of these guys are WARRIORS!
He said, the only reason he rides a 2 stroke is becouse they are easier to work on, since he doesn't have a mechanic. If you listened to Billy Bolt he said you can ride extreme on a 4 stroke as good as on a 2 stroke
Ask the Baylor brothers how good Sherco is at paying bills…
