Can’t be sure but those forks look bent. Unfortunately there just isn’t a good dirtbike in this price range. Anything you buy will need a few hundred minimum put into it.
How old and tall are you?
Previously, you posted a full size XR250L. Now XR100. The 250 is a full size bike; this is a mini for kids or very small adults.
In general, all XRs are fun, reliable low-performance trail bikes and are great beginner bikes.
I am on the taller side but I really just want a bike to mess around on that has a clutch. I have already looked into everything involving height

Forks are bent 100%...

Generally an xr100 of that vintage for $1000 could be fine if you are looking for an xr100 of that vintage, but it could also be a total heap. The bent forks are signs of a bad crash or abuse. I would not buy a pit bike with those forks. Keep looking.
The way those forks are bent tell me it has been jumped and bottomed out a lot. That bike is worth 100-200$. It’s a pile. Your better off buying a new Chinese pit bike imo. Every bearing in that thing is toast. Frame is probably cracked. The 250 you posted was better.
I would skip this bike.
When forks are bent, they bind, and pretty much don't work at all.
The bike may also pull to one side.
I would save up more money, then buy a modern bike, either a newer model 125 or 250F.
It'll be a night and day different experience.
I would just tell the seller that he could be responsible financially if the new buyer is seriously injured or worse due to a fork failure... And here it can be a big one for him, and for the buyer. He can't be selling that bike as it is, or he has to mention in the ads that the forks must be replaced. Bikes are machines, not toys, so I am pretty upset to see this. That alone tells you a lot about who you are potentially buying a bike from, and for that alone I think I would pass unless the price is significantly dropped (and that you can find cheap forks in a good shape).
Overall, for any bike, check all the maintenance done to the bike, it is like buying a car, check the invoices (rod, piston, etc), tires, chain/sprokets, pads, discs, potential leaks (from carters, carb, fork), damaged rims especially the rear one, tight or gripped spokes (if they are gripped it sucks, and for the tension, with the tool hit them all gently and they should make the same noise), all bolts shape or missing ones, suspensions that work properly (funky metallic sound in the fork = no oil or broken springs, and a normal rebound in the shock as if bouncing freely that means most of the time a rebuild to do or garbage), swingarm marks, straight bars levers rear subframe pipe silencer, radiator shape if there is one, wheels bearings (not 2 millimeters left or right), and bring your tools and if still interested don't hesitate to check further like the linkage bearings and the valves. When you buy it you must know how much it will cost you in the end to ride it without risking a catastrophic failure. Buying a bike is really not about the look, a bike can have new plastics, nice decals and fresh tires but still be a ticking bomb. Often it is better to either buy for super cheap and do a rebuild if you know how to work properly on bikes, or to buy a clean one with full history. Having good tools and learning on how to do regular maintenance is also a good way to save a lot of money on the long run.
Forks are bent. Do not buy.
I've been pretty broke, pretty often, before so I feel your pain dude and I like the enthusiasm.
Being realistic, if you buy a bike in a similar condition, you won't be riding it safely or enjoyably because it will be a heap, and by that point you may as well not have a bike.
If that's the case, and it almost certainly will be, you may as well hang fire for a little bit and keep sticking dollars in the bike-fund pot to open up more options.
Then if something pops up which is genuinely worth having, like when somebody is desperate to sell or doesn't bother checking current prices for a semi (not completely) clapped out old two stroke or XR or something, you can buy it and at least have some fun while you're working to improve it and make it better from that point.
I probably wouldn't have listened when I was younger and in your position, but please at least think about it for a minute for your own sake 👍
I collect old XR's (metal tank models) and to me that bike would be a parts bike for the engine. I looked at a decent shaped XR100 in that year with a bad stator for $400 and I passed on it if that helps.
I would keep looking since that bike looks to have served its purpose as a hard ridden play bike and probably needs lots of work besides the bent forks. $200-$300 for it would be more of a suitable price imo.
That pile is way overpriced. It is maybe worth $500. I would look for a 2000 or newer XR. And for what it's worth - I'm 6'6" and rode the piss out of my nephews 2002 XR100. Banged my knees a few times, but still had a blast.
older beater XRs can be found for a few hundred bucks, the engines are generally reliable, but consider the age of the bike, bent forks, who knows what else, not worth a grand.
Have you ever seen a bike jumped or bottomed bend the forks like that? I have not. The reason it's raked out like that is because they crashed into something and turned the forks around in the clamps.
The seller told me he had a nasty crash and that’s why the forks are bent.
Used fork tubes are cheap Bro. You just need the uppers and they are very easy to work on. I would even help you through it. If the rest of the bike is tight it could be you for the right price. I would say in your case that price is $300-$500 depending on condition. If the bike does not run and drive fine or has any other major problem RUN away.
