I was watching The Deegans video today and I noticed Anstie was doing starts with the Star team. Anstie is on a Firepower Honda which is a privateer team. It looks like Max gets a good jump every time and is wheel to wheel if not ahead of Haiden but still comes out last in the long run. The 2nd clip caught my eye because Deegan did a little wheelie and probably had to use the clutch to keep the front end down and he still beat Max. I thought this was pretty interesting and shows the difference in bikes.
In that clip you also see Max wheelies and then sits up on the brakes earlier than the others, which makes it look worse than it is.
Very short start so timings and technique are exaggerated.
Looks like max got off balance, also be interesting to know the riders weights.
That all Being said I think starts is more of a technique then anything else.
I also wonder if Max is able to practice on an equal bike to his race bike or it's just a little "less" due to budget.
Gotta assume the Star guys are on pretty equal bikes to what they race.
He is older. The kids egos take them all the way to the corner.
He can tell in the 1st 20 feet weather it was a good gate or not.

Deegan probably much lighter the anstie too.
Electronics
Because talent and skill has no impact on starts. It’s only about the amount of money thrown into the motor.
Engine is a very key part of it. Anstie is a decent starter aswell
Factory
Privateer
The difference is probably not as big as it once was. How many times have we seen the Club Guys or MCR guys pull a hole shot?
Anstie is 166. Id imagine Deegs is around there
Anstie sits up too early and wheelies and gets off balance where Deegan stays forward and keeps driving straight
We talkin bout practice?
Mike LaRocco I guess had shit motors his whole career.
And Mile Alessi had the fastest motor every single year. Even on the RMZ most recently.
weird.
