So will Adams get to race West coast now. I can't see Mitch being very patient with Marchbanks.

He made a post on ig asking Levi to borrow his bike so probably I’d think

Why, what's with Marchbanks?  P9 last night after a crash in the sand, is that bad enough to throw the panic button?

I thought he was going pro? That's why he didn't do Mini O's. Is he scheduled to race the East?

Jason Thomas said on his podcast today that the word in the pits was he will be on the gate next weekend.

He was there essentially waiting for someone to get injured and planned to race futures. He’s in for the rest of West now with Kitchen going East because of his illness.

Took painfully long to get up. Didn’t seem like much of a big hit. Probably gassed towards the end of the moto, out of adrenaline.

They just want more than one bike on west coast.

Nothing. No panic button. Probably need two bikes on the track, in comes Drew Adams

Drew told me he was futures unless they needed a fill in. Looks like they need a fill in for west, so I would say yes.

Mathes tweeted that Masterpool is switching over the ride the West. I don't think any of us really though Ty was going to win a title but still sucks for him to start a race down now. The plan was always for Adams to ride futures this year? There's plenty in here much smarter than me about these situations so they can correct me. But seems weird they wouldn't have Adams ready to go.

IMO that is kind of a kick in the nuts for Ty.  Even if he was a longshot for a title, this removes all hope.  If he stays healthy this year and rides decent, Mitch will owe him another year, Ty is "taking one for the team".  MX careers are way too short to lose a year like this, it is still an individual sport.

I don't think they have a bike for him. That means they would have to bankroll another race bike.

I think it’s a perfect scenario for Ty. No championship pressure on him and he can just go out and ride. With solid results he can finish in the top 5-7 in the series if he stays healthy.

Agreed, I dont think a top 3 in the championship would have been realistic for him anyways I dont see him beating Deegan, Shimoda or Smith in points.

I get what you are saying, and I agree (no pressure may be good for him as he sharpens his SX skills).  There is a chance Ty felt he had the speed to run for it though and his SMX speed was quite a surprise at the end of last year on the PC bike. Even if we think he had no chance at a title, he may have felt he had a chance.  Switching coasts and losing a round is definitely being a team player on his part, I just can't help hoping a move like this will help him long-term.

Yea obviously he would have preferred to race every round, but now he can take a deep breath and not worry as much about the end result.

one things for sure, PC has been a shit show for a while now. I really think Mitch needs to evolve a little and let his riders know what coasts they are riding more then 1 week before A1. All it can do is create un needed and non beneficial stress.

So Drew was only going to turn pro at the Nationals this summer? He's going to mop up Futures this year. I don't even see the point. Davies and Long are out there looking solid. I know he's very young so I guess it's no big rush. Masterpool is just going to ride Marchbanks bike right? What's the difference if him or Adams ride it? Again I'm sure I'm ignorant to how these things work and I'm just missing something

Why stick Adams in Futures again - he won almost every time out last year?

They don’t have a mechanic and parts for him to race full time

I don't understand Adams on the sideline at all unless he just loves green or they have him locked down contractually somehow.

Incredible talent and young. Came within a few positions of winning the outdoor title in Canada last summer as a rookie. Easily on the same trajectory as Davies/Long or better and they both have full rides. Hard to believe that Bobby didn't court him as opposed to some of the other riders on that team.

Why do you think anyone is riding marchbanks bike?  He's healthy and will be at the races.

Adams might be the fastest guy on the team, if not then he's second to Levi. He should be out there. As far as Ty not racing all the rounds, I think the idea is similar to Prado, go out and race without pressure and develop more SX skills but stay healthy because you're a contender outdoors.

Now that you brought it up, I'd kind of like to ride Marchbank's bike too.

Hear me out for a second. What about this scenario...Drew is the fastest or second fastest rider on the team in SX training. Ty is the slowest. With only having one bike on the track in West, PC needs someone to race. If Drew is fast enough to win races and Ty isnt, why not put Ty on west and let him race and get better without the pressure of being in a must win scenario and then allow Drew to go out and maybe contest for a title. If he was fast enough to win races, you wouldnt want him to already be 25 points down.

Or maybe they just dont have the budget to field an extra guy so the easiest it to keep on the same path just swap Ty and Levi.

Ty was the 5th rider on the team really to begin with. So I doubt he was signed to win a sx championship to begin with.

Good for him and hope to see him run some top 5 this year.

According to "the plan" Adams is a fill-in rider so he is not going to start the east region until Hammaker and/or McAdoo get hurt. Now that they are adding Kitchen to the east Adams may need both Hammaker and McAddo out before he gets a shot. There is a high probability that happens, but unless it happens before the opening race Adams is going to miss at least one round of the east. They'd be nuts not to start him now, but it's Kawasaki so . . .

4 rookies that he raced against in Futures made the main at A1.
