Sorry to be out of touch with some of these.
1. What is this in the Kawis rear brake? It looks like a stopper or adjustment but why not just use the adjustment in on the piston?

2. ML512 shows Star bikes with stock motor bracing and Deegans with "tighter spacing engine mount". Is Deegans for rigidity?
3. What do you all think of the all blue amateur Yamaha bikes compared to blue and black Star bikes? When Star initially presented the blue and black years ago I was not a fan of the look but I think I have grown to like the blue and black of the Star bikes over all blue.
I still don't understand why they put the footpeg pin in that direction. I've always seen the cotter pin on the bottom.
The tab in the picture would stop the rider from hitting the brake by accidentally stepping on the top edge of the pedal?
I like all blue. Black plastic reminds me of getting my gas can and tools stolen at Perris.
That is a separate pedal position and throw/bite point adjuster. Essentially they are creating what the Austrian bikes come with stock. Changing the adjustment on the piston rod is not the same as directly changing the pedal position and taking up some of the throw before the bite point.
Same. Black and blue together sucks worse than all black, too. It's like someone decided to put blue decals on one of those black edition CRFs. Star Racing has the fugliest bikes in the pro pits.

that way they dont have to take off the brake pedal off if they need to change a footpeg, ive always done it this way too
Could it be that some riders hook their foot under the brake lever to lift and lock in? I’ve seen Tomac do multiple times. Maybe JA has the same style?
My guess for the kawi brake pedal thing is so if they hit a rut or tuff block, it hits that stopper and doesn’t rip the guts out of the master cylinder.
IMO blue Yamahas all day everyday. Hate the black so much. I’m reminded of it when I see the amateur bike and how good they look. Would be an interesting one to poll to star riders on. Also the club white. I wish it faded to white after the shrouds.
I prefer the all blue plastics the amateur team runs.
Originally, I thought the pro bikes running the black plastics was tied to Monster Energy's sponsorship/corporate colors, but if that were the case, why isn't the amateur team using them as well?
My guess for the cotter pin on top is so it doesn't catch on something and snap off.
I compared the 2022 star bikes to 2025 and It looks like they are slowly adding more blue on the bike - Seat, blue stickers on the fenders and shroud. That is probably why it is growing on me. Looking back at the 2022 bikes, I'm reminded of the facebook marketplace black plastic style...
Can someone explain to me what adding force or taking force away on the forks pressure spring does? This was in one of the pictures that showed the external pressure spring adjuster.
If I am not mistaken, it adds more pre-load to the shim stack which tightens up the compression.
It adds preload to the free piston which stiffens it up a bit because it takes more pressure to displace fluid when the damper rod compresses.
It was already stated but it’s the fastest way to remove the pin. The other way you have to remove the brake pedal to get the pin out.
It’s tucked in so far there really isn’t a risk of stopping on it or ripping it out some other way. Also you instantaneous can see if the pin is messed up.
The more blue the better on the Yamahas. Love that shade of blue👍
I thought the amateur bikes looked like crap. Look like little kid toys. I'm glad Star keeps blue and black on the pro bikes.
The Star bikes this year look better. I personally like the black but it was a bit too much the previous few years. This 25 design is better with more blue on the front fender.
