Since Deegan has all but officially wrapped up the 250 MX title.

Since he’s already got 38 as his career number, do we see him take a single digit for 2025?

I predict 38 or 1 is all he'll run.

They've spent years building the Deegan 38 brand/marketing effort.

He's one of the few guys that can actually cash in on a career number.

IMO, it wouldn't make sense to change it.

It wouldn't make sense for him to change it, as Mav said, they have built a brand around that number. I have thought about him possibly taking the #3 when it is available but I quickly forgot about it because it didn't make sense with the brand and stuff like that.

I doubt anyone that thinks they will be a top 3 rider going forward will take the 3 for at least 10 years.

He should take #5. He reminds me of Dungey and Larocco. Very outspoken.

I'd like to see some of these kids of former racers step out of the shadow and choose their own number and identity. Deegan, Wey, Reed, Baggett, Grant, Vohland, etc., all run (or ran) their Dads' recognizable numbers. Probably too late for Deegan at this point.

It would be cool to see the #8 return but I'd guess he will stay with the 38.

He should be 33 for D33GAN lol

But no he’s branded 38 so well I wouldn’t change it.

I'd say he should do #8

I feel lIke the luster for a single digit has died down. I tthink he stays 38. Lucky for the AMA too. If every 250 mx champ took a single digit they would have run out of available ones by now

3 or 8 in Earnhardt fonts would be bad ass as career numbers but I don’t see him leaving the 38. I was always a fan of Mike Brown running the Earnhardt Sr #3 on his PC bike.

I thought DC had said (new) that all National MX Champs must use the Number 1 plate the following year if they are defending their championship.?

They do but they also can choose a single digit permanent number if they want to use when they aren't defending their championship.

If you change numbers, all your posse has to buy new merch......   just saying.   😎💪   Math:  200,000 x $50 =  Yes, I would like to change to number 8 please.   🤣

Who was the last person to run #8 and why has no one picked it?

Langston.

Why has no one picked it? A lot of people think it doesn't look good.

8 would seem to be the easiest for them to transition their branding if he wants to go single digit.

I could see them going either way, stick with 38 for all the merch, branding etc. etc. but I can also see him going with 8 for the prestige of a single digit number.

Either way....I'm sure folks here will be PISSED

If I were him, I'd take #3 for his 450 debut year in 2026 when Eli retires.

Yeah, that's what I was also thinking, but again I keep telling myself no it won't happen because of the brand they have built aroudn 38. But 3 makes the most sense if he does go single digit.

He’ll be running #1 most of his career anyway so a single digit is irrelevant

Why is there going to be meltdown threads for him running a #1 plate for the championship he won ?

My point is everyone knows he won the SMX championship last year and he's going to be running the #1... Do you honestly think people are really going to care about it and hate on it that much?

I think there are people here who would get mad if he made a statement as simple as "The tires on my motorcycle are round".... the kid literally can't breathe without some of the old men here getting mad.

Should take 8, single digits are way cooler and can work the 38 into the marketing
