found out that he hit her and choked her. he is 17, she is 16. want to kill the little shit. asked her about it and she said he has only done it once. they have been dating for over a year. told her i would bet my life that he has hit her more than that. she is still talking to him. told him he was never allowed over again. said he would be over any time he felt like it. if i see him hit her or he wants to hit me, can i then beat the shit out of him, claim self defense. he has already threatened me. have my own daughter who is 23 and is married,teaches school,has a 2 month old baby. she never acted like the little bitch my step-daughter does. we have allready taken her cell phone we have no home phone. we do not let her use our phones, her mother is not much on discipline, that is where the problem lies.

Sometimes the more you try to help, the further away the kids get.

Be very careful what you force on her. Try to educate her on domestic violence, and use visual aides. Pictures of what happens are very powerful.

Help her SEE what is in store 5 years from now.

Stepping in and kicking his ass will do no good. That will prove nothing and lead to trouble and take away your credibility.
I would concentrate on talking to your step daughter about what her life will be like is she ends up with a total loser like that.

Being a step-parent sux. It was probably 90% of the reason I got divorced. The child can do no wrong in the parents eyes (even if they are failing school with five F's) and you're hands are tied and you're mouth is taped shut with blinders on you're eyes.

I just found out the elder son (who I got along with fine), just got divorced for the FOURTH TIME! He has three kids from different marriages, even though he got snipped after the second one. He's 35 now....Actually a nice kid, I feel sorry for him.

As you can tell not much parental guiding....

lives with his grand parents. told them, they are pretty naive. his grandmaw gets credit cards in her kids names, then maxs them out, has done it several times. this all started when they lied about the prom, caught them laying out of school. came home early from work. she was shaving his groin area. his dead is a crack head alchoholic, mother is not around. that is no excuse though. yeah. the more you try to keep them apart te worse it will get. hes not allowed over or even in the driveway. they got into it in the driveway, here him screeming and cussing, went outside told him it was time to leave. will not do any thing rash.

yeah if we get divorced it will be becauce of kids. i hate kids with no discipline. they are lazy, worthless. if i did something like that my dad would beat my ass

Get some recorded evidence of him threatening you. Confront him. I'm sure you can get him to say something stupid. Then go to his parents with the cops by your side. Record your visit with the cops.

I had a girl friend that was beat by her father and ex husband . I swear she tried to get me to hit her a few times . It will turn into a vicious cycle if you don't stop it know .

Talk to the police those guys probably have daughters to. Get it documented like everyone is saying, you might want to foucs on your stepdaughter though. Something attracted her to this piece of sh*t and he could be the first in a long line of loser boyfriends.

She has problems because of the father separation/divorce. Pretty common with girls when dads leave in their early years. They seem to seek out guys that fit a pattern of leaving and dominance. Not a psychologist but I have seen this quite a bit.

Get an RO then have him arrested when he violates it. Of course you could just wait for the violence to escalate too.

Out of curiosity why would you get involved with a woman who has this type of dysfunctional relationship with her child?
