Ok, so what do we do?

Oil slicks and spike strips for RV?

The answer is, let him ride the way he does, and let everyone race him to catch him. Dungey isn't going to do it. But the guys coming up will. He's got a lot left, but as always, the new blood eventually takes over. He's the best. No one can argue that. It takes more than speed and fast qualifying speeds to win races. It takes what RV has, not what RD has.

They tend to let RV checkout and not see much more of him during the broadcast.

Then we do see some good close racing between 2nd-6th/7th and we get to see who wins these particular races.
Of course RV wins 1st place but there's still a hell of a lot of racing going on and that should be enough parity for a casual viewer.

With bobbym jumping on the Villopoto bandwagon, that'll probably handicap him enough. It's obviously been a handicap to Alessi since he turned pro........

I know this thread is a joke, but on a serious note, if Villopoto adds 4 more championships to his name, he's the only person that's even in the discussion with Carmichael as greatest ever. We are witnessing a legend and I'm glad I will be able to say I got to watch him race when I'm older.

Like that will work. RV will just work on his reaction time and still be launching off the gate at the same time everyone else is launching.

Lets face everyone else needs to up there game to bring the battle to RV. Not to say that RD TC JB51 JG JS are slacking in there program but they just need to concentrate on riding harder out of the gate and keeping that pace up for an entire 30 min. They also need to up there fitness programs watch what they eat etc.

RV has the desire to win at all cost and it shows in his training, riding and equipment he is the total package. If you want to compare RV to another competitor in there prime just look at F1 racer Michael Schumacher he went from a champions ship winning to team to a team in the dumps Ferrari. He in turn brought in a team of engineers tested and trained his but off until Ferrari and he could not be touched at the races. F1 changed the rules that handicapped MS and Ferrari and it almost killed off the fan base. Just look up the Indy F1 race in 2005 and you will see the results when the handicap backfired on them.

RV has done the same thing don't hate the guy for putting in the hard work. Domination is his reward for all the work he has put in.

I guess I just don't understand. You're ok with this? Kawi shut down their off road division to fund RV. This year RV will make as much as every other rider in the 450's combined. Where's your outrage? Why shouldn't RV have to share his horsepower, salary, bonus, and training technique with the field? Kawasaki should be required to share its technology. It's not fair to the other riders for one person to achieve this type of dominance. He must be cheating somewhere and if not it still isn't right. Right?

Your last paragraph is a jewel, contradicts everything you stand for.

On a lighter note, holy crap RV is showing some pure greatness.

I agree with Dave that something should be done to limit the advantages the factory stars have over the Weston Peicks. Now I do agree that the cream will always rise to the top because it mainly is rider, but factory tires that need heated covers is not some sort of advantage? Should their be a claiming rule in pro racing? What about a part specific claiming rule? Like you could go to an official and say I want to buy RV's tires for x% more than MSRP of a predetermined amount set by the sanctioning body.

I'm sure the argument of "they earned the ride" will come up, and I'm not saying they shouldn't be claiming Kawasakis semi truck, but I feel we should be leveling the playing field as far as we can for machinery and then let the rider shine on his talent and hard work, which means RV still wins but it could be a little closer for the entire field as a whole.

Lets face it guys, RV is ruining our sport and something has to be done. Hes making the racing and the championship boring, and is making a mockery of the other racers. It's not fair to the rest of the field and fans. We must act quickly before the sport goes completely down the crapper. If we remove RV from the equation, we have guys swapping wins. At least in SX... I like the idea of governing his bike to, that's awesome lol.

On a serious note, I would entertain the idea of the factories not having such an unfair advantage on equipment. Keep everybody on the same standard of parts/restrictions since everybody says its the rider anyway, not the bike. Put everybody on the same shit and lets see who the best RIDER is. Maybe the field would be alot closer, I dunno. Just bench racing!!!!

I dont remember this much crying when RC and Bubba went 24-0. I love watching RV. It's like 35 minutes of saving it. He just pins it and keeps from crashing. most of the time.

Yeah, was getting ready to say the same thing. The new bike seemed to put RV at another level.

No we shouldn't handicap the most successful because this isn't modern day Government & lifes not fair. I know it's nothing more than fishing on Bobby's end but to think RVs ruining the sport or action needs to be taken is stupid.

Maybe all us fans could donate to a rider welfare fund. This fund would be dedicated to getting every single rider on the best available PEDs and making sure their bikes are all comparable to factory equipment. Then after RV destroys the competition not a single complaint can be made and we can use the fund to buy them cell phones so they can start looking for a day job.

Kind of funny actually. A month ago the OP was saying RV's wheels were coming off. Or some other nonsense.

Do you think Weston Peick would place higher on a factory Suzuki?

Feld/AMA will have a Nascar/NHRA countdown in SX soon. Just give it some time. All in the name of better entertainment!
