not sure how brownie is doing , personally i feel 3 should have been given up long ago cant blame him to be fair its the rule in place that needs changed , no way a single digit number should be in use by someone only racing a couple of rounds to hold onto it

I agree with that logic. Single digits should only be for "full time" riders.

The old rule should be, back. The number you are finishing is your number and if you are riding your first year 450 you get and triple digit number number because then you're back a rookie.

They are always saying that those numbers make it better for people from outside the sport but thats bullshit. And most of these "career numbers" aren't even getting used for commercial use, so for god sake! In Europe also only Cairoli should have an career number because he is using it for commercial use. The others have there numbers for years but thats because they think they are getting better with it or because they are riding with it from the 50cc's...

Seven gear? I see RV2 and rc4 plastered everywhere. Doesn't dvs have shoes with 14 on them? 199? I'm sure I'm missing a few.

I don't think they ever had a rule in the US that you had to go back to a triple digit number when switching to a 450 from a 250 (or 250 from a 125). Even in the days of Hannah he ran 39 in his second pro year no matter what class he rode.

What does how you finished last year matter!!! It's how your doing this year isn't it? For that matter they should change the freaking numbers each race to reflect how they stand in the current championship. Let them run whatever number they want...

I agree. The 17 looks good. Keep it. What's the big deal about a single digit number anyways? In football, only pansies wear single digit numbers like kickers and quarterbacks. Be a man, keep the 17.

Haha. The 17 does look good. It will look even better with a red background.

Don't you have to get something like 25 points to keep your number? Even if you only do a few rounds, that is hard to do. Dowd and Brown only raced a little last year and got those 25 points. If you can show up 2 or 3 times and earn 25 points, you deserve to keep that number. I don't think Brown is too close to that many points this year, not enough guys out injured like last year....although what he is doing at his age is impressive.

English comprehension isn't your strong point is it? He said MOST... Team two two and seven gear are exceptions to the rule not the norm of what every career number or single digit rider are doing!

As much as I like Eli, the 17 will always remind me of Reynard.
