I got the XGPS160 to go along with a LitPro subscription and the feedback you get is pretty amazing on the track. I highly recommend it. I'm not super pumped on my mounting solution though and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I bought the GPS unit on Amazon so it didn't come with a mount applicable for MX so I purchased industrial strength velcro to use which I think is the same as LitPro provides.

LitPro recommends mounting the device on your helmet or on the front fender. I would prefer the front fender but I have a KX250f so the front fender seems to be out with the triangle ridge in front of the front number plate. I put it on my Shoei helmet to try it out but a) it doesn't feel that secure and b) It looks and feels kind of weird.

Anyone find a solid mounting place or solution? Can you put it somewhere less visible or will that effect the transmitting (wouldn't think so).

Thanks for the help.

Do not mount on the front fender. It will fly off if you hit the front end hard.

I mount it under the handlebars on top of the top triple clamp. No issues so far.

I mount mine on the bar pad. I have industrial velcro and it fell off once on the track. I now wrap a velcro strap around it as well and have had no issues.

I’ve had very good luck on front fender of KTM for 6 months but last weekend it did fall off. I found it lucky.

On my Honda I stick it to my upper triple clamp/under bar pad in front of the bars. Very safe and secure.

That shouldn’t be a problem, what kind of bike do you have? I’ve only verified fitment on 06-09 Honda and 13-16 Honda

I have a 19 KtM and 19 Honda.

Do you have photos of how it mounts?

Looks cool for sure!

I’m making a mount for my 19 husky currently. I’d have to check fitment on a 17+ Honda. I’ll try to get that this week. I think they’d be about $15 shipped

I just did this with a KTM, I should probably make some sort of rubber band mount system like they use on transponders for a long term solution.

I have a question for you LIT Pro guys. Can you only view the HD track photos if you’ve ridden at the track? Or is there an option in the app if you have a paid subscription to have a look at the available track overlays?

I think it’s all subscription based now.

Right, that much I understand. I'm speaking in regards to these:

I would like to have a look at some of the track overlays they have like that but I'm not sure if it's something that you can just go in and look at if you have a subscription or if you have to have ridden at the track to access or view them. It'd be a great help for some projects I'm working on and I'll buy a subscription if it's possible.

I think you need to ride the track.

Have you looked at google earth for track views?

I had a extra pro taper bar pad laying around so I tried doing this over the weekend and it worked awesome! I glued a hard piece of plastic under the pad and attached the Velcro piece to it and cut the cover to fit over the pad.

Just got my XGPS last week. A damn shame LitPro doesn't have an android version of their app.

Just got one too.

I’m curious how some of you users are using the tools and analytics to improve your riding? Which tools, views and settings you use and why?

Recently bought the XGPS to use with Litpro. The data shows no ‘airtime’ at all. Any idea what this could be?

Agree. Got mine last week, too. I'm trying to use my Android phone hotspot with an iPad Air and it's no go unless I have solid LTE which I didn't get at Aztec Raceway in Colorado Springs or anywhere on the 4 hour drive home. If I can't check data at the track I don't know how useful it's gonna be.

Same issue here. If you find out, let me know. I'll do the same.

I just ordered an XGPS. I had been using RaceChrono but the 1Hz resolution isn't very good. It basically only works for lap times only, so I want to get some better data on corners, etc.

I'm a long time Android user and find it hard to believe that LitPro doesn't have any android support. Current market share for iOS is 25%. It seems crazy that a business would create software that only works for 1 out of 4 users. I guess I'm going to have to buy a used iPad to take to the track. I definitely don't want to pay for a data plan for the iPad, so I hope I can hot spot the iPad off my Android phone.

I ended up just making an aluminum mount to use my CRF mount on my Husqvarna:

I use it on the fender. I use the super velcro stuff from 3M. I basically replace it with every wash, but it stays on there well while I am riding.

Obviously, line choice is great. I have been pretty surprised by what lines are faster at multiple tracks.

But I also like to ride consistent laps, so that score, plus seeing the overall range is nice. I have found that trying to ride *perfect* laps instead of *fast* laps, so, riding smooth, hitting all my marks, but not trying tooo hard, is the fastest and most consistent.

I ride a KTM SX150, which has a pretty large gap between the fuel tank and triple clamp. I will probably install it there with super velcro.

kdiringer - Did you have problems with it mounted in front of the fuel tank?

I only ever ran it in front of the tank on My CRF that had a bolt there, I had it come off of both my helmet and frame when I just used dual lock

Helmet, Velcro. Not gonna come off unless you weed it hard. When you finish a session grab your helmet, plop down in your chair and download.

Check out the LITPRO website, they now have a feature where you can use your GoPro camera as a timing device.
