What's up everyone! Just moved back to western PA from NJ. Anyone in the area looking to meet up and ride? I generally know of some woods areas to ride in the Beaver County area and I'm always down to hit tracks like Switchback in Butler, PA. I'm down to travel too so let me know if anyone wants to rip!

moto unfortunately is slowly dying in western pa the lack of tracks is killing the local riding/racing. This time of year the best place to ride is hillsville near new castle, pa.

Do you ride there often and is that the address of where you park?

I haven't been there in years. I've heard to stick to the sand tracks, and no one will bother you. Has law enforcement been busting balls out there?

- MX Acres
- Pymatuning
- Youngstown MX
- OIR

Youngstown and OIR are ran by the same crew - Ytown is usually open wednesdays during the summer, OIR every other weekend.

Malvern is another track in eastern ohio - they have night races all summer long.

TV Land MX is up near pymatuning - decent track.

Lots of options in Ohio lately and turnouts have been trending up.

High Point also throws us a bone several times throughout the year - PAMX, LLQ and National Weekend.

I mainly go to Switchback, but am always down for MX Acres, Creekside, Mines and High Point. Other than that, I ride on our property at our family cabin. There used to be so many good tracks around, but I also dont race often, like I used to.

Mx Acres is probably the best place imo. PVR if your looking to race, no practice there.

Depending how far you would like to travel, we have Tomahawk MX in Hedgesville, WV. Then if we travel in to PA there is Breezewood MX in Clearville, PA, Creekside MX in West Newton, PA, and Roaring Knob in Markleysburg, PA.

You’ll be fine in hillsville. You can drive right back to the sand tracks and park there. No one is going to bother you. Me and a few buddies were out there last weekend and there were probably 20-25 guys out there running on the upper and lower track.

I have a buddy who's been going to hillsville a ton the last few weekends. I doubt anyone will bother you there. Great trails out through Russelton area and Saxonburg area. I've heard there's tons of trails in plum/penn hills area but i've never been on them. Cant speak for that.

Hillsville looks awesome on google maps. Wish I didn't live 4.5 hours away on the more eastern end of PA. I might have to have to just say fuck it one day and make the drive. I see a bunch of trails branching off from the main area, can you ride all of that?

I live a little east of Pittsburgh where we get quite a bit more snow. I'd love to make the drive to pittsburgh area to do some riding if anyone can give me some ideas. I ride mainly single track/hard enduro type trails but I'm open to about anything.

It’s a possibility seeing that it’s going to be almost 50 degrees on Sunday. Should be pretty good out there. I will let you know I may be able to get a group of guys to go out.

Any idea if people hunt in Hillsville on Saturdays? I don't feel like getting shot or yelled at if I decide to take a ride out there.

You may have very few but they will be no where near where the sand tracks are. People usually only hunt on the complete opposite side. Wouldn’t worry about it.

Go past the firework place, the road makes a right turn, stay left go past building, go down in to the gravel pits and stay left and you will see the road that goes right into the sand track.

The only part of hillsville that is “posted property” is the back side of the Bahamas. Which you’re not getting to unless you know where you are going. Take that for what you will.

The sand track area is owned by people that ride.

Yea sounds sketchy, must be illegal if the law enforcement was called out.

That is new information to me, but I haven't been there since about 2012, and never had a clue who owns what there. Here's the best video I know of, but it's 7 years old. Riding starts at the halfway point. It's amazing what a pro rider can do freeriding. I couldn't figure out how Mike McDade could jump some of that stuff.

Do you think the laws have changed in 7 years? I don't know what to believe about the place, all I've been told in person is stick to the sand tracks and you won't be bothered. I suppose the thing to do would be to contact the local authorities and ask them what areas are off limits.

I live 10 minutes from there and that is where we go anytime we don’t go to an actual track. No one is going to bother you at the sand tracks lol. It’s nothing for there to be 30-40 people out there on a nice weekend.

Thanks for the clarification. If you see an Alta and a Husky E mini on the small track next spring stop and say hello.
