Actually it is a VERY important point, and absolutely must be mentioned. For the record, since Webb was such a 2019 MX title "hopeful," #1 RBKTM guy, etc. etc. Evil I applaud this thread.

All I hear on vital is the SX title is the only thing that matters in the usa. Motocross mean nothing. No money, teams dont care, mxon means nothing etc.

Webb just banked several million dollars. He is doing exactly what he should according to world of vitards.

Two not so great races and Webb is trash to some of you? Give him time, I seem to remember another number two that came into outdoors off his first SX championship and struggled early but managed to figure it out and win the title.

Two races in on his first season on the KTM and he definitely could turn it around. I don't care either way, I just want great racing. We need more races like the first 250 moto yesterday and Webb getting closer will help. Tomac appears to be on another level and I hope 3-4 other guys find another gear in Lakewood....whatever their name is.

Maybe he still doesn't give a shit about the outdoors (that's sarcasm for some of you folks that are slow on the up take). It's not uncommon for the SX champ to have a slower transition from SX to MX. RV and RD both had it a few times. I think the issue is more that 1) Tomac is just an absolute beast when he wants to be 2) Starts aren't quite as critical in MX (starting 6-10th isn't a death sentence in MX) - the cream rises to the top in a 35 minute moto when tracks aren't one-lined. 3) Riding a wide bike in MX only lasts so long. Cooper's MO in SX was to get good starts, be consistently fast but not ride over the edge, not crash, ride a wide bike and make your bad nights not be as bad as other riders bad nights. Still have 20 races left, anything could happen.

I still expect some podiums from Cooper this season and possibly a couple wins. But I also expect Tomac to crush everyone (unless he beats himself). And I'm rooting for Kenny - as I think Ken is the only one talented enough to compete with Tomac when "he's on".

Webb appeared to be riding pretty safe and almost timid (for a top pro) in the corners at Hangtown. I am sure he is adjusting to the first few outdoors on a new bike, but I expected him in the top 3, not the top 6. He wasn't in the mix at Pala.
