This makes me want to buy one. I've been on the fence about doing it for awhile now. I need something to lose a little weight and get in better riding shape.

I found a 6 month old used one in my area ( the more expensive one ) for $1000.00 , so I wrote the guy and asked if he would take $850.00 for it.....But haven't heard back from him yet. I'd like to try one out though before I buy one....but it seems a lot of you guys are really happy with them. I'm looking to change up my workouts anyways and this looks like a good machine to do it.

jeffro, why don't you give Greg Hammond at Concept2 a call, its the best thing you could do, super cool guy and he will be able to answer all your questions about the info..as you can see he seems to have already gotten involved in this vitalmx competition, which is cool of him and no surprise to me, as i said, he is very pleasant to deal with and i'm sure you will find the same.

Thanks for the info man. I will try and get in touch with Greg if I have any more questions. Basically i just wanted to hear from actual riders on this board on what they thought about the overall performance of the concept2. I'm going to try and locate one at one of the fitness centers around town this week if i have time and give it a try. I may try and pick up a used one if i can save $300.00 - $500.00.
Jeffro503 Here is a link that will help you find one that you can try. It is our rower finder. If you have questions defiantly give me a call. I am a rider and a trainer and won't give you any BS. Defiantly listen to all the riders that have one and actually use it. There are some smart guys in this forum and on KTMTalk.com. http://www.concept2.com/us/interactive/rowerfinder.asp - Greg

David, Whats up??? I was wondering where you are at these days. Are you going to be at LL's this year? I still have mud stuck to my running shoes from running the track with you.

i've been in England this year, been to the odd GP and British race but won't be in America until the MXDN.... shame really as i had a great time at LL, love that place... if you want to run the track again and beat your time.... 9m 23s 94 is the target lol

actually in training for this thing (happens week before MXDN): http://www.americanadventuresports.com/blackbeard.htm ... so this rowing comp has come at a good time

if you could add me as a training partner so i can see what it all does... i'm not sure my gym has the latest firmware for the rowers so i can't be 'official' but i can definitely hold up a scrap of paper Smile

oh yea, do we have an affiliate name yet?

Just did my 2000M for the week... 7:10.1

The 500 will have to wait a day or two. Between running and the rest of my workout I didn't have much in the tank tonight.

Damn some of those guys are insane. Lot of older guys on top of the charts too.
Be interesting to see where our rankings might be at the end.

Heres the link:http://www.concept2.com/...nking03/rankings.asp

Now I'm even more excited to pull my Week 1 500 tomorrow!

A good benchmark is a 5000m in under twenty minutes, which would mean an average per500 of 2:00 or less.

sdfog1 if you can do 10k in less than 40 min you are my new hero. That is an insane pace to keep up for 40 min. I'm not calling bs on you bro, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and a beer if I ever have the pleasure of meeting you.Wink

Haha no worries, I won't accuse you of calling b.s. I have not done a 10000 yet but my best 5000 is a 19:18, which is barely under a 1:56 per500 average, so I'm hoping I can get a 10000 with a 2 min per500 average. Hopefully I can sustain it for that long. I might have to take up that challenge soon, maybe tomorrow. And the beer will have to wait if I can do it, as I am sixteen. Haha.

2 things: 1. If you are only 16, then maybe you can maintain that pace. 2. Shouldn't you be in the bed by now? If you're going to do a full on assault on 10k tomorrow you need your rest kid! Oh, I forgot, sorry about the beer thing. I'm not much of a beer drinker anyway!

So this is 500 fly and die week? I have said this before I would rather do a 5000 meter than a 500 meter. I have not done one by itself in a long time. It is a lot like letting someone kick you in the nuts. You know it is going to hurt but you let them do it anyway and you are definatly going to feel like throwing up after.
