Some real works bikes that arent constrained by the production rule. Febvre had electric start on his YZF for years. Its at the front of the cylinder like the yz450x, but the oem one now is at the rear. I wonder if that means they used the offroad one. He also has a carbon fiber subframe/airbox. Same with Akira Naritas Honda.

Yea Im just saying its cool his non 18’ had electric start a few years before production. If it was his 18’ it would just have the stock starter. Anyways

Heres a ram air kawi:

Real works MX bikes haven’t been around since Dubach’s ‘97 OW.

|

I ripped a start from Egypt and I was happy about that.

But it's not as if it was a one off factory thing the base was a production engine for the YZFX and the WRF....I had the WR and it was a pig with electric start the way it influanced the engine rpm and braking, I put 7hrs on it and sold it.

Go for it! Don't let a little thing like fear, or common sense hold you back.

They should have stuck with that look. The 98-05 Yamaha 4 strokes were hideous in my opinion

Would be cool to see true works bikes like in motogp. I feel like production based rules limits bike development. Only bad thing about our sport is its too small to fund that kind of stuff. Kawi pulled from motogp because of the cost of doing it. Privateers would be totally F’ed.

Can you imagine pulling up to the gate as a privateer at a National or SX in 1982 and looking over at this?!

How much ram air effect could that Kawi really take advantage of in an MX race. I’m thinking just a better flow of air than from under a seat or next to a side panel but I doubt any serious gain. Trick looking though.

I thought I remembered seeing a KX250F converted to a finger follower style valvetrain. Maybe Bud Racing or something in the GP’s?

Tomac and/or Anderson for 2020.....

The Bike It KXF is absolutely NON-factory (as is most of the Rinaldi YZF, btw), including the one-off frame.
Read Steve Dixon itw if you wanna know more about it:

The fan isn't from that bike, it's from KRT's KX450F-SR.
