I can truely say its been along time since I have seen the talent level in the 450 class like we are going to see this year. Im excited and I cant wait. Your thoughts?

I agree, the last time I was this excited was 2005.

There was a thread a few weeks ago. I think someone counted around 8-12 champions that will be racing in the 450 class, with somewhere around 31 champions combined! That's a stacked field!

Like I said yesterday in another thread, theres going to a lot of big names missing mains this year. I really hope that they will bring back the semis.

On another note about SX, I also think that maybe adding 5 laps to the main will beneficial, to try and get it closer to the 20 min mark. I think that as it is right now, it's too short. Tracks end up in the low 50 sec. Zone and we get 15 min mains, which in my book is for to short, IMO.

Very true, but atleast this year it looks like a a few injuries wont ruin the whole class. The talent level is thick from top to bottom. I think Dungey will have his hands full trying to run away with it again. I always said some day we would see the class so loaded that big names wouldnt even score points, I think we are headed that way. This class will bring out everyones A game, if it doesnt they are going to have a rough year.

2011 will be an epic outdoor season. Being bold and calling it now for Villapoto. He will start off top five-ish for first few rounds, and then come on like a freight train as he gets his game back by race three or four. Hide and watch!

I do love your anticipation of the 2011 outdoor season, however this thread and most the people on this board have switched their minds to the spectacle of supercross. As far as Villopoto (with an O), if he is indeed healthy for the great outdoors I would suggest looking for him in the front of the pack at round 1, none of this first few round warm up shit your speakin of.


Now Back To SuperCross - Most stacked field ever - 1-20 are going to be legit

Tons and tons of legitimate contenders next year. I don't have a favorite, I just don't want to see a runaway. 2009 SX 7 vs. 22 was epic and kept the fans interested all season long.

Would you prefer "Tougher Competition in the 450 class"?? All I meant was that the talent level is a more evenly matched now, so if someone has an off nite..that could hurt them pretty good in a class like this.

11 past champions and

5 x 450SX titles
15 x 250SX titles
3 x 450MX titles
7 x 250MX titles
1 x 250MX GP title

31 major championships between them!!

(including JLaw if he competes)

Agree. SX mains were way too short last season. 20 minutes + 2 would be perfect. That along with the watered down field made last SX season mediocre (esp compared to the outdoors) IMHO. Hopefully, we will get a stacked field for at least the first month or two. Injuries are a forgone conclusion unfortunately.

So what if a big name misses the main?

Making the main is not a divine right, you have to qualify. If a big name rider can't make the main after 2 chances, they don't deserve to be in the main.

I like the current system. If a privateer puts in an awesome heat race and finishes 9th, he makes the main. 9th = nothing in the old system.

Leave it the way it is... its gonna be an awesome year.
