I am new to this website.
I have purchased a bike ten years ago from a friend who couldnt handle the bike, he told me he purchased it somewhere in the mid unit states from some storage facility. He told me the bike was raced by Ryan Dungey. I never had proof until now.
I contacted Suzuki motors united states who did not have the serial number in their database, they told me to contact the canadian suzuki motors... which I did and... this bike was purchased in 2006 by Ryan Dungey, by the SMAI MX team.
I have proof of this and so does the canadian Suzuki database (feel free to contact them if you dont believe me)
I am putting feelers out there since I do not know what this bike is worth or where the best place to sell it is.
I will be honest, I am not a huge MX fan so this doesnt have much of a value to me, possibly to someone else it would.
2006 RMX250- team makita logos, Dungey engraved chain tensioners among other items which are very unique.
If you have nothing nice to say to this thread, dont bother saying it. Since I have proof and so does the Canadian Suzuki company, thats all the proof I need to know its legit.
The bike is located in Winnipeg MB Canada. The bike has been in my storage facility not riden in a few years.
The motor has custom valve tuning, which when we tried to revalve the bike Suzuki would not give us the teams specs on the clearances. I have had a top notch mechanic troubleshoot the clearances and now runs amazing.

If anyone has suggestions what I should do with this bike please let me know.

Somebody will be along to help you once those pics are posted.
The Shop
I dont have photos of the bike just yet, I have the bike in long term storage since I dont have the time to ride it.
I will hope to get photos this week and post them.
For now, all I can do is post the response I got from Suzuki Canada, yes I took out my S/N because for all I know, some of you are assholes by the sounds of it and I dont know what you would do with that information.
The reply also has an address which I believe is Ryan Dungeys address? no idea...
Can someone tell me how to attach a photo to this thread? please and thank you... enough with the jackass comments.

This is a 2007 in this photo yes, this is the closest look alike I could find.
All of the bikes that the amateur Suzuki riders got, came from Suzuki. My son was on the Suzuki amateur team in ‘06 and ‘07. There is no reason that the bike would’ve came from Canada… Makita Suzuki graphics were not part of the amateur team and Ryan turned pro at Mammoth in ‘06 and then started racing for Roger in ‘07. He was an intermediate up until mammoth. We got our ‘07’s at the end of August and the purchase date is noted in December. Sorry…but not a chance in hell that he wouldn’t ridden an ‘06, when the new bikes (‘07’s) were out, let alone buy one from Canada
FYI- the ‘04-‘06 RMZ250 was a big pile of shit. Nothing but problems with that bike. You’ll be lucky to get $2500 for it, if you can convince someone that Ryan rode it and the motor isn’t ready to grenade.
Sorry to be the bad news guy, but these are just facts… not sure if the pic of the chain adjuster came from you, but if it did, I’m sure you realize that Ryan’s last name is Dungey, not Dunjy.
You’d be better off keeping the bike.
I could get ahold of Troy and confirm all of this, but it really isn’t worth my time.
You have to realize how many people come on here trying to rip us off with bogus info or fake pics of stuff that they don’t even have to sell. Good luck
The Makita graphics were never used on the 250’s in ‘06, that I’m aware of, but I’d be glad to admit I’m wrong.
Oh, and it’s an RMZ250. The RMX450 was an off-road version of the RMZ450 from 2010-2019 and as far as I know, they never made a 250 version. At least here in the US.
Ryan was 16 in ‘06, I’m sure Troy was buying the bikes then, the paperwork you provided with Ryan’s name on it is suspicious…. No reason to have it in a 16 year olds name, IMO.
Also, at the bottom of your paperwork, it says that the bike was registered in the US, which is a little confusing to your story…
Is it possible that someone in Canada bought Ryan’s bike from the US ? That’s about the only way I can see this being his bike. But it still smells fishy, but I suppose that is a possibility… timing would be good for selling it in December??
SMAI ~ Suzuki Motors of AMERICA Inc
I have a friend that bought a Bike from Canada in ‘02 and couldn’t register it here. Can’t remember why, but the money he saved buying it up there and then shipping it from Canada was long gone, when he went to sell it.
No one on here will buy your bike, they think you are full of shite...... your story doesn't make any sense and you are trying to sell something you don't even have in your possession.
Please post some pics when you get a chance and if it’s remotely possible that it’s Ryan’s bike, I’ll gladly help you verify it.
I know I come off being a dick, but if you knew how many people (just on this forum) that have been burned/ ripped off, you’d understand.
Amateur team bikes aren't like pro race bikes, the riders either sell them at the end of the year or take them back to dealers for them to sell, so it's not uncommon for someone to have a used amateur bike.
The screenshot he posted has the Dungey's address on it and shows the bike is originally from the US...
Picture's will definitely help identify more about the bike!
