Wow. The man is an icon and the fact that he tells it like it is every damn time is awesome. Called out the current crop of riders. Blair asking some tough questions too. Good stuff

That was the best interview w/Chad I've heard.. I've always chalked Chad up as ego-maniac, but I guess at this level you have to be to some extent. Seems like a very happy, driven individual, who's seen it all.

Anyone who's not a 22 fan should listen to this.. Mucho Respect to the #ThunderfromDownUnder-

Great interview...talked about the rivalry between RC, JS and himself and how RC is now one of his best friends. In a way he called out today’s riders- He was suggesting they are not as competitive as JS, RC, RV and himself were in their prime- as they would do anything to win....today’s rider are ok with not winning ( settling for 2nd...)..

Also mentioned JS’s instagram post ..

Ok, to be fair and no disrespect to Reed but the field back in his hay day wasn't this stacked and competitive. It just wasn't. If Reed and Stew went down in the first corner of the main event, they could both come back through the pack and finish first and second. Same for when it was Reed and RC. The top 2 guys were head and shoulders better than the field. They had to go for it in order to beat their other best guy because it almost always came out to who finished first or second each race. Dungey proved that you can win multiple championships and go down as one of the greatest in the history of the sport by taking podiums and not pushing it over the limit. And JS proved that you can lose championships while being the fastest rider on the planet because of when things go wrong, they are catastrophic.

Great interview, amazing that RC retired 12 years ago and Chad is still racing for podiums.

It was good to hear that he is already trying to secure a deal to keep racing next year with JGR.

To be fair we have had what, 5 winners so far this season? You didn't get 5 winners when RC,JS,CR raced against each other. No complaints from me because this season has been the best it's been in years. I love going into the weekend wondering who will be on the top step in the big boys class.

To be fair, the separation back then compared to now could be track related as well. It’s not just the riders.

It’s funny you get downvoted when what you’ve said is 100% accurate and not disrespectful to anyone.

The field back then was deep, those guys were just that good. Reed is right, they wanted it more.

They were head and shoulders above the rest because they had the drive and determination to be that much better. Ever seen them (rc, rv, just, Reed in his prime) ride in person in their prime? It was on another level.
