Anyone got a suggestion for a bar mounted lap timer? Only thing i see is the GET timer which is 300 bucks. Wasnt quite looking for all that.

Maybe i should pony up though. Would be good for instant feedback and keep practice days more interesting when alone.

I put the receiver behind my number plate with velcro. So... also buy some velcro with a sticker backing to it. Makes it easy to remove for washing or whatever.

I use a garmin 920- works awesome. Go to Keefer’s site, he just did a write up on it. Lots of good info. Got mine off Amazon for under $200 I believe.

Racechrono app for Android. Slip the old cell phone in your boot. Trying to read lap times mounted on the handlebar is a futile effort. Read them when you get off the bike.

Ive used the track addict app. Works pretty good. I zip tie my phone in an old life proof case to my bar pad. I’ve considered cutting up a crossbar pad to hold the phone better.

The get lap timer is good because you can set a lap time and it will flash red if you are lower than a set time or green if you are faster. Its called the md60 and it has been discontinued

I'd look at the LitPro... not only shows laps but you can also check out your section times. You can customize any track to see where you are improving by creating your own segments. The amount of data that it shows is crazy.

X2 for trackaddict app for android.

Doesnt cost a cent. I adapted a bicycle phone holder and attached it to my chest protector and bought a milspec phone case since i use my primary phone.

Been running this set up for close to a year now and have never had an issue with phone falling out of the mount or sustaining any damage.

Heres a few screenshots and a video example.

I use this one. Best i ever bought for mx racing and practice. shows latest lap time for 10sec. Can do laptimes or longer intervalls.

If you press it just before a jump you can look down and it in the air after.

Harry's Lap Timer app on a phone is damn near free and works great. Just need to rig up a phone mount. Behind the front plate is a great place.

I use the AIM System in the cars I race. One of the best data acquisition, cameras and lap timers out there other than MOTEC. They make a unit for motocross, however, I haven't had the opportunity to test one.

If it's anything like the system used in cars it's going to be excellent. Quality chit.

Got a few in Europe you can buy Smile
But ok, i guess it is time for a more advanced system given the progress and cost cuts on these kind of products.

A phone with GPS and offline/online mode so you dont have to have a SIM-card in it (use Wifi when you get back to parking). Then i could see it going into a modded bar pad.

Better would have been an pre-packed Android device with protected casing, and ANT+ + GPS to display both heart rate and lap times.

A swimming lap timer is a decent, cheap way to do it. You mount the lap timer on your handlebars by the kill switch. Every lap....you hit the button at the same point. Cheap and effective but you still can't really see if your keeping pace on the go. Is your current lap better than your last lap? Shit like that.

i was pretty impressed with the track addict app it was less then a tenth of a second off from my track day coach/buddys AIM solo. I'm not super serious about my hpde days so the phone apps work fine for my needs.

LITPRO is great been using it since it first became available, the LIVE option takes it to the next level, if using ear buds when practising, you are told lap times, segment times etc.

I thought i would bump this thread. I ordered a Polar Vantage M GPS watch and i'm looking for an Android app to analyze the data after the motos i do. The most important thing is lap times. What are the go-to apps in 2020?

The LitPro app looks good and a few friends use it with their GPS fitness watches but they don't have an Android version, which is kinda weird.
