Anyone got a suggestion for a bar mounted lap timer? Only thing i see is the GET timer which is 300 bucks. Wasnt quite looking for all that.
Maybe i should pony up though. Would be good for instant feedback and keep practice days more interesting when alone.

I also bought a cheap camera tripod to mount the "laser".
I put the receiver behind my number plate with velcro. So... also buy some velcro with a sticker backing to it. Makes it easy to remove for washing or whatever.

Doesnt cost a cent. I adapted a bicycle phone holder and attached it to my chest protector and bought a milspec phone case since i use my primary phone.
Been running this set up for close to a year now and have never had an issue with phone falling out of the mount or sustaining any damage.
Heres a few screenshots and a video example.

If you press it just before a jump you can look down and it in the air after.

If it's anything like the system used in cars it's going to be excellent. Quality chit.

But ok, i guess it is time for a more advanced system given the progress and cost cuts on these kind of products.
A phone with GPS and offline/online mode so you dont have to have a SIM-card in it (use Wifi when you get back to parking). Then i could see it going into a modded bar pad.
Better would have been an pre-packed Android device with protected casing, and ANT+ + GPS to display both heart rate and lap times.
A swimming lap timer is a decent, cheap way to do it. You mount the lap timer on your handlebars by the kill switch. Every lap....you hit the button at the same point. Cheap and effective but you still can't really see if your keeping pace on the go. Is your current lap better than your last lap? Shit like that.
The LitPro app looks good and a few friends use it with their GPS fitness watches but they don't have an Android version, which is kinda weird.
