4-strokes sound bad enough (compared to 2-strokes).... but when that becomes the future. Racing is dead to me.
Great video btw!

Also, there is absolutely no way in Hell anyone on an XR200 is going to pass #177. Martz on that 450, Tomac on an XR200, Martz FTW.
The amount of seconds per lap that Coty has disgraced me by at Cahiulla...at Glen Helen...at a damn corner track in the desert has made me consider quitting all together...
Because, sure - Coty Schock would wax all of us on this board, and my friend as well. He simply can't do it with one hand behind his back when riding with Steve. (Michael, with all due respect I think if you tied Coty's hand behind his back you could beat him, handily. No pun intended.) Come to think of it, that would be a funny challenge: "Coty, ride with only one hand and see if you can beat Steve!"
With regard to the XR200, well, honestly a lot of us on this board could beat Tomac if he were riding one of those. An XR200 simply does not have the power, handling or suspension to allow anyone to ride it faster than a modern 450. It's not a knock on Eli or an overestimation of my friend's abilities to say that. To wit, it's 90% rider, 10% bike... unless one of the bikes is an XR200!
Remember, guys - when talking about "fast," we are talking about slivers of seconds at the top levels. It takes a lot more talent to to even a tiny bit faster once you get close to the top. Tomac is only a few seconds per lap (5-10) faster than Schock, who is probably only a few faster than Michael Lindsey, who is only a few faster than Bryan Haskell, for instance. Add it all up and it's probably 20-30 seconds a lap on a regular MX course while riding equivalent bikes. This is a difference far less than the difference imposed on a good rider by riding a playbike.
To loop all the way back around to my original point that I was trying to make when I proclaimed the speed virtues of my buddy: The Alta is indeed a reasonably fast machine, as proved by the fact that a rider, ANY RIDER, was able to beat my friend and his YZ450F on one.
By example, last year at Ironman, Coty got sixth in 450 moto two. His best laptime was 3 seconds off of Tomac’s best (who won the moto), 1.5 off Sexton’s best in fourth…
I’d be about 15-20 seconds slower a lap then Coty at Ironman.
I’d be at least ten seconds a lap slower than Coty at Cahuilla’s main track.
