Dude's unbelievable. That's all there is to it. Won 250/450 SXs and 250/450 Nationals in three different decades.

Yup. The guy is a stud and IMO, one of the greatest of all time. Not just as a rider, but as a ambassador of the sport.

Kevin should be every riders hero. Something to strive for in life. Ride because you love riding. Race because your good at riding. Be a good person. Live simple. Be humble. He loves the sport. To quote RJ way from back in the day......."to do good at motocross you have to love motocross". Kevin loves the outdoors. Amazing ride today. Will NEVER forget it. Awesome 4 race Outdoor National comeback for the Stud of our sport. A win. A f'en win in the hardest sport on planet earth in the premier class on the hardest bikes to ride at their limits. Damn. Respect. 30 years. 3 decades. JS was not even born. Wow. Amazing. Story of the year in my book. Thank you Kevin.

I think he's also training to run a marathon with his father in law, too...just in case he doesn't have enough challenges in his life.

I was at Steel City, and the crowd went wild when he won the first moto, then when he was 2nd in moto 2 for the overall the crowd went wild again. Seems like everybody was pulling for him and for him to come back to the track from playin for the summer and show up like he has says something for his character and talent. When I heard he was coming back I bought tickets, and it was awesome to see a hometown dude "K-Dub" win... It was well worth the trip.

Ramrod, certainly no disrespect my Reflex brother, but K-Dub IS considered among the best of all time Wink

It seems he has figured out the ride/race/enjoy life balance.

I hope he's got another 5 years in him. He's awesome!!!

He's got himself of supercross win and a national this year.

Is he staying with FC for next year or what? He still has upside in his career by pulling out a win every now and then when things line up nicely, he's a huge fan favorite and he's top 5 for fun.

There's been no official announcement of where he'll be next year.

I believe, up until he started racing outdoores, he would have automatically extended his relationship with FC. There are rumors around at the moment though that Factory Honda may want to retain his services for 2011...

Damn I love silly season...

I always wonder what would have happened to Kevin if he hadn't had that forced breather in '02 when he broke his femur...before that wreck, he just was hating racing and not enjoying things much. After he came back, he really wanted to do it. Nobody can force himself to do something that dangerous, that long, that well unless they like it.

It really doesn't matter to me that he didn't win a big bike title. Lot's of wins for sure.

If it wasn't for the 10 year reign of the android named RC ...

Kevin is great rider, but why does he deserve a big bike title? Like those kids sports league where everyone gets the same trophy, win or lose? Don't you have to be first to deserve a title?

How does a man who has raced pro longer than James Stewart has been on this earth come back after 3 f'en years from the outdoors and win? What is Metty thinking tonight? What is Short thinking tonight? The young guns got everything going for them and a 35+ Vet rider wins a National. This blows all the Rocky movies out of the water. This is not a movie. This is real life. Not taking any thing away from the Boss but this is the story of the year.

Why? We're not discussing the moto. We're discussing Kevin Windham!

I like the NEW Vital posting policy. Put all your posts in an existing thread. Everything we have to say has something to do with another post. Use the search. No new threads. That will clean up everything that is "wrong" with Vital. After the "slowest" race day on Vital since inception and I have to agree with what they are doing. It was nice and boring. I was able to get some work done. Thank you.

Its very cool to see Kdub get a overall but lets face it. The field in the 450 class is piss poor at best. Hell, Metty is a player in this class! What does that tell you? The dude did nothing in the lites.

Other than Dungey racing right now there is not a rider that could beat the top 7 in the lites class if they moved up to the big bike class tomorrow.
