Jerry Robin VS. 1985 Riders?

Edited Date/Time 8/7/2013 9:01pm
How do you guys think Jerry would stack up against guys like David Bailey, Rick Johnson, Jeff Ward and guys riding that era of bike? Obviously we can't go back in time and find out. Who knows?

Love Jerry but he's a B rider not a pro like Bailey and Johnson, hard to compare at all!

Ahh yeah lovin the hate. But watch the old supercross videos. They look slow. What I am sayimg is the pace of racing has gone up. Would rick johnson in his prime beat stewart or carmichael in their prime?

I dont know. I think he has a point. He's beating kids on 250f's and as we all know some riders in the LL B class just go straight to the pro's after. I think barcia and webb both did. And if he had a better start in 250b i dont think he would have got 9th

Doubtful. Ward was fast in his day, but he is about 50. Even Dowd is slowing down.

He has the speed. Look at who he beat in the 2 stroke class. Dean Spangler was one of them. Deans no joke, I say Jerry can hang with the leaders of the B classes on good equipment, maybe not the 85 CR, but on the 07, he was as good as anyone. That said, I think he could hang with those cats if they were all on 85 models.

You can't even think about using that video as "proof"! The only thing that shows is that the TRACKS have changed alot. As far as your original post... just to many "if's and's and but's" to be sure.

You talking about the cream of the crop back in the day. No offense to Jerry, but he ain't even the cream of the crop in the amateur class. Think before you post next time.

so what would Guy Cooper do to Jerry while riding his 74 bultaco??
It is not as much about the bike as it is the rider! lol
I am not saying Guy Cooper would beat modern bikes on his 74...but a true rider can ride no matter what they are on

I don't think Jerry's performance would improve as much as you might think if he was on a modern bike

I dont see why you all have to jump on this guy for asking a simple question, which could lead to some interesting conversation. your all acting like cavemen, grow up a little and have proper adult conversation about something for once.

on topic, it's hard to compare, surely there would be lap times from a track that hasnt changed that could be used as a comparison?
