As far as the 500 goes, honestly, all that power and no engine braking = way too much bike for me!

I'd kill myself fer sure.

i'm still hanging onto my kx500, its just sitting in my garage. havent ridden it since i re-did the entire motor over a year ago. I just re-couping from ACL reconstruction so I'm thinking i might do one of these conversions with my motor and race it next year, only problem is I'm a hare scrambler and i'm looking to win the A class with it, i dream about it everyday. I love that AF

My '89 KX500 and Mammoth was as you say.....

Perfect moto day until I busted my collarbone in the main....Sad

Was sure fun while it lasted though.

I tried that..... scroll to the 5:00 mark to see the crash. And check out the helmet damage.

ouch...

I think those AF500's are so sweet... but, for myself, at 40+, I can ride faster and longer on a smaller bike... unless its playing in the dez or sand, then all bets are off.Smile

Good vid. What class does that guy run? At first he wasnt too impressive, but he definately picked it up on the 2nd lap.
