Sarcasm aside, that was one ugly crash and hope the promoter learned something. BTW are you alphado from back in the day on Motonews? Being a cheapskate, I only lurked but remember a few OGs like you and BobbyM.
Using metal in the track is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Its far more dangerous than dirt alone. Dirt can't pierce you, but edged metal certainly can.
I don't remember ever seeing an AMA SX track (or National) that has a sharp drop off on either side of the landing area. If the promoters are going to make good on their promise to make the racing safer, they will have to use more common sense than they exhibited in Australia.
This is Cole Seeley flying off the side:
I know freestyle isn't racing but their standard landing ramp setups are pretty much just the downside of the over/under:
There seems to be plenty of precedence for WSX landing ramp setup, and as far as I know none of the riders have had complaints about it.
And I guess we’re forgetting about Kyle partridges foot from the over and under
Pit Row
Make your mind up dude.
Pretty self-explanatory but let me know if you're still confused.
You keep changing the goal posts whenever proven incorrect.
Why don’t you just admit the real reason for criticising is that it’s not AMA?
Even though it was probably the worst case scenario of a crash on that structure
Seems to me they didn't 'dodge a bullet' they dodged a nerf ball when no one else crashed on it over two full nights of racing
I don't know the reason for using the metal ramp but there seems to be no reason to not use it..
Also the problem seems to be with landing not the takeoff
