The kid got on a none typical SX cookie cutter track and got his ass handed to him, don't get me wrong the kid's got mad skiils but their not as good as other's. The rider's that performed good at seattle rode good because of skill and technigue.

Does it really matter? He won the championship in his first try and won when he needed too in order to do it.

Big deal. He could have slept at home and taken the title.

I showed the photo below to a few of the guys out there, and suggested that it was the definition of a million ways to die.

Taking a title is pretty amazing when you add up the list of all the things that *could* go wrong over every jump, whoop and turn. Every lap. Every practice, heat, and main event. And multiply that by 17 races and the billions of decisions they make, process, and act on...and just as quickly forget.

Congrats to Dungey, and all the competitors out there.

He did what he had to do and got out of there in one piece.Be real stupid of him to push it when he had the championship in the bag n risk a stupid injury n miss some of the outdoors.

Pushing it woulda been almost as stupid as your post.Laughing

I'd say the one that impressed the most was, Tommy Hahn. I knew Kevin would be a force to reckon with, but he's been doing this stuff for a LOOONG time. Franky, Hahn's been at it, I think, a little longer than RD has too hasn't he?-at least in the pros??(maybe not) So, all things considered, for a tough fought year, Ryan Dungey and Team Suz did damn well for a rookie season. He and "Goose" knew exactly where they needed to be and did just that. And subsequently took the 2010 SX championship home.
Congratulations boys....well done! Smile

This thread is just ignorant. After spending 5 minutes trying to figure out what your piss poor English is trying to explain, I realized this isn't even a logical argument. Dungey only had to get 6th for the title, and therefore he had nothing to prove by winning. So, you think he should have risked the rest of his season by stepping up his game to prove his "skiils" and "technigue" after already beating all those same competitors in the title fight?

KW rode great but if RD would have had to win it would have been a different outcome, IMO.

Well, Kevin has been pro since Dungey was about five years old. I'd say for the late start Dungey got on Kdub, he did pretty well for himself. Keep in mind, your talking about one of the fastest guys on the planet.

How does he look confused? The only one who is confused is you. He finished top 5 and picked up something that no one else on the track had. A Sx championship! Way to go Dungey.

Yeah! The smart move would have been to risk everything to win another race with the championship wrapped up. What was he thinking, riding around in fourth. He is so confused.

hey don't get mad, if you were there you would have seen dungey try and cross lines in the whoop sections to keep up with KW, and do alot of other stupid stuff that he didn't need to do. I like the kid thinks he's great but the TV coverage didn't show all the weird mistakes he made. and that track was just stupid. My riding partner made the main so that makes me feel a little good about my self even though i'm over the hill

what? lol

On a wet nasty rutted track when your about to win your first and the biggest title of your young career if you just finish 6th or better, are you really going to feel comfortable? Are you not going to be nervous? Are you seriously going to throw caution to the wind and try to have fun with it? Your calling people dumbassess and actually typing the stuff you type at the same time?

He won the championship-next. Why would he hang it out on a gnarly track like that? That is precisely why he won the championship in the first place-because he is fast, smart, and disciplined. This won't be his last championship.

Listen CumGuzzle love needer, Dungey handed everybody except RV their asses on a consistent basis this year, and you say he does not have the skills.

Thats why he is a few million richer right now, and you are writing gay posts.

Ummm... I am going to go out on a limb here, and guess that the riders who grew up in Rainy, rutty locations probably felt more comfortable..... Like Southern Miss.
So KW has won 2 races in the last few years. One mud bath, and Seattle, and that makes him a superior talent?
I love the guy, but talent alone means nothing. Dungey, RV, and a very few others are fearless as well as talented.

K-dub always does well on non cookie cutter tracks. Talent rises to the top when the tracks are difficult.

Cuss me cause I'm going to say again that it is a disputed title! Luck had a lot to do with him not getting hurt at San Fran.... 10 super fast guys didn't compete the whole series. Mcgrath even said something to this extent. Yes, he did win the title. We will see next year though. In all reality he is a top 5 guy. Go ahead and tell me you gotta be in it to win it and all of the other bs. How many of you said reeds titles were given to him? Oh but not Dungeys for some reason. Cause he is a rookie you give him the benefit of the doubt? Bubba almost beat him with a broken wrist! That was amazing. I like RD, but there's no way a little shine doesn't come off the title when you look at some of the names that he did not have to compete against. Stewart and Reed are still the SX front runners with RV and RD close. RV has a little more raw speed, and I can see him challenging bubba and reed before anyone else. Go ahead and say that Reed sucks now all of the sudden... We will see once he actually wants to race again and has the baby... Bring on the smartass remarks, cause I'm going to bed and will not read them. lol I know there are others out there that feel the same way. I will be rooting for RD outdoors by the way.

Times have changed since MC won his title, buddy! Guys are racing 2-wheeled rocket ships where surviving the series is a major factor in whether or not you can win a title. Dungey survived, while everyone else who lined up on the gate crashed out between then and now.
