Here's one way to think about it, think of the other riders of the same time and did they dominate the other guys head to head.

After Dungey takes this outdoor championship, both will have 6 big boy championships this decade. With RV quitting after this year, I'd say Dungey has a much better chance of becoming dominant rider of this decade.

I could argue the 80s and the 10s.

The 80s didn't have a true dominate rider, it had 4.

We're only in 2015, kinda early to call a dominate rider, especially when Ryan will probably never race again.
