Took my 2020 kx250 to have the valve spring issue fixed. Took my bike there perfectly clean, good running, and immaculate shape. Got it back after a month finally, thing was completely nasty and gross, they put the wrong bolts in a few places no I have one completely stripped out in the frame and can’t get it out. Has anyone else had anything similar happen like this?
Unfortunately with recalls/warranty work, you’re stuck. If I could, I’d deliver a bare roller with an engine to minimize what they could dick up...after all, I’d damn sure be tearing it down to check their work anyway.

How they respond will tell you whether this is an isolated incident, and whether they are deserving of any future business. If they make it right by you, then you may be doing the next guy a favor by addressing the issue. A decent business owner would want to know when their employees are doing shoddy work so they can fix it.
If they won't make it right, I'd be done with them for good, and I wouldn't be shy about sharing my opinion.
You know where not to take your bike next time.
If i was you i would ring the guy and send him pictures, even if you dont want to deal with it, he will want to.
You might get credit for parts, you might get nothing, but if you do nothing, you wont know.
I was told by one shop that they were sorry they misplaced my screws, and that they didn't stock them.
I told the guy that I could get all I needed off that new CR125 sitting on the showroom floor.
He ordered me some.
The reason it's so hard to get stuff fixed right is because mechanics are almost always paid on flat rate commission. The valve spring job on your bike "pays" just over two and a half hours of labor. That's how much time the mechanic gets paid to do the job. If he can do it in less than that, he makes more money. If it takes him longer, he "loses" money. It ends up being an incentive for guys to do fast, sloppy work. Try to find a dealer that pays their mechanics salary instead of commission. They're rare, but they exist. They're usually the ones with really good reputations.
I’m waiting on a new gasket to show up and I’ll be going over everything. I probably should have just started disassembling the same day..
