Martin Davalos, gets great starts, looks to me like the bike is the only thing holding him back... Imagine if he was on a PC or Geico bike... Can you say title contender ?

I think he has a lot to do with it, not just the bike. Yes he's had a few mechanicals but he throws it away too much and maybe needs more stamina. Cant seem to hold it together pass 6-8 laps!

He had a PC offer a few years ago and turned it down, at least that is what Matthes is always saying

are you kidding? he has had plenty opportunities on good bikes. If his bike is so bad why is he getting holeshots and then fading back when Anderson is moving forward through the pack? I am not saying his bike is as good as PC or Geico but they are pretty decent.

Martin Davalos on a PC bike, will be blazing fast in practise, he'll win a few heats and then fail to produce the goods in the main. He's had so many chances to succeed that it would be silly to expct anything more at this point IMO

I agree he would be dangerous, he would throw it away at a higher rate of speed.

...apparently he turned it down because (and I'm paraphrasing here) "if I don't win on a PC, then nobody will ever hire me after that". This--like you said--is what Davalos said to Mitch according to Matthes.

He is just fine on his Zook. He is fast on it. Maybe the overall team structure would be good for him but not necessarily the bike. However, I may be wrong.

If that is correct, there is part of the issue. There is a huge amount of lack of confidence, a mental block!

Think two seconds about this one : Musquin will be very dangerous on a PC bike...

A PC bike won't stop you from randomly crashing every 5 laps...

And Martin turned down a ride from Mitch a while back so he clearly doesn't have the gumption regardless...

Do PC bikes make you crash less? Seriously though I like Davalos, but i don't think PC is the solution.

First of all Devalos is on a great bike. Strouoe was on that bike in 2010 and did well in SX. He was on the pulp show and said it is a great bike. The RMZ250 is a great bike stock. I am sure they only made it better. Devalos has shown great speed. He just can't keep it together. Nothing would change on a PC.

Second. Musquin is on a FACTORY bike and is doing well. PC bikes are good no doubt, but they are not considered a factory bike. Does anyone thing Tickle's PC 450 is better than RV's factory KX450? Both Roczen and Musquin have shown how good those KTM 250s are. Not to mention having Decoster behind the scene. I am sure he has had a say in the devlopment of that bike. It is Musquin's first year in SX, he is doing well and will only improve.

I think he's a really good rider, with very good starting skills, and good overall skills. Unfortunately there are a lot of "good" riders that are out there every weekend that can get some starts, win a few heats, and show well for their sponsors. But may never win a SX main or win an overall in an outdoor national. Does not appear to me that his effort is lacking, and I doubt he's being held back by his equipment. Good rider, just not quite good enough to be winning mains. I like the kid.

Just my opinion but you always hear about the guy who just needed to "win" to get the confidence and confirmation that he belonged at the top level....Martin is "that" guy.

I love how everyone thinks that Mitch has some special water fountain over at PC that makes average riders great.

Think about this, for ever one champ Mitch produces, he produces three losers. Give me the name of one PC rider that has won that wouldn't have won on another bike.

I'll bet my bottum dollar that the KTM 250 is Evey bit as good as anything that comes out of PC.

Martin Davalos on a PC bike would be right where he is now........

I feel bad for the guy, he obviously works hard, has speed and skill but just can't seem to keep it together in the Mains.
