Hurt wrist, Vicodin, and boredom and I end up dealing for a new bike!.
Anyway, bought an 03 CRF 450. The guy wanted 3900, I offered him $2500 today in cash-- iwas gonna work it up to 2900. But he took it. Bike is beyond clean and well maintained. He said he hadn't rode it in a year--I believe him. everything looks pristine.
Came with:
Brand new Hinson clutch, clutch basket with Hinson cover
Two sets of plastics and graphics
Black Excel Wheels
White Bros pipe, and Exhaust with 3 different tips.
Applied lower and upper red anodized triple clamps w/ black tag bars
Those red anodized plugs all around the engine--cheezy but oh well.
Showa suspension all re-gutted and done by Race Tech for a guy my weight--heavier spring in back. (probably get redone anyway with Enzo)
Then since I knew I was buying a bike...decided to place and ad this morning on Criagslist and sold my RM 250. Had it on Criaglists for $2K some kid called...he didn't even need to haggle. I quickly said, "I'm buying a bike today...if you want this I'll sell it for $1,000 to you today, and only today--this is an incredible deal for this bike and the extras. When the kid picked it up...I think he knew he hit the bike lottery. Plus all the oil, air filters, parts, extras and all other 2 stroke stuff I'll never need...I gave him. At least another $1,000 in extra shit.
The bike starts on first kick...needs new tires and I need to buy an IMS 3 gallon tank for it. Can't wait for wrist to heal...my first CR in a long time.

when you heal up, bring it this way for some riding.
Are you talking suspension, Tiki? Or have them do the motor? I don't plan on doing much to the motor...unless I tone it down a bit for desert riding it. My dad test rode it for me and he just shook his head and said...Jesus...things fucking powerful.
The last suspension Enzo did on my RM was sooo perfect...it was scary. I could fly through those whooped out sand sections with ease.
I was thinking of getting a Baja Design kit for it. I don't do MX anymore, so that might be the best course for me.
You wont need to tone it down, its a great tractor. People tell me they make too much hp, but I still end up using it on hills or straights. Living at 4000 feet also steals some. When the Valves give up the ghost send the head to RHC for stainless valves. Its a little more for the work, its been worth it. My valves still in spec after a few really good rides.
They make great cross country bikes. Just the right amount of engine braking. The new fourstrokes are so near twostrokes. No more engine braking, light switch power, kinda bummed on that.
The Shop
What a day!
You ever gonna make up this way, Bobby? See the quads? Both Can Am's...one of a 400 and the other is an 800. Yours to ride if you come up! haha.
Pit Row
I have a 2004 CRF 450 Aprox costs after the price of the bike is around $1025. Thats two top ends, includes pistons, rings and gaskets one set of stock ti valves, one set of stainless valves. Head work and the Valves r/r. Total hours on the bike are in the 160 range.
This isn't including wear items.
Thanks, for your concern, seriously.
Good score, my 03 was one of the most reilable bikes I've owned.
Congrats!
Good to hear the 03 on reliablity. The bike is immaculate.
OldX--Duly noted. Thanks.
Also might want to get a larger tank. Stock I think is between 65-70 mile range, not sure.
Post a reply to: Bought a CRF 450 today...wish I could ride it now.
