I know a guy that used to ride like that, but it was on 2 strokes. He NEVER shut off, just held it pinned and used the clutch. Unreal to watch.

Why in the hell would you think a factory bike would be good for longevity? They are basically built like a "Bic" lighter.......disposable when you are finished using them. A stock bike is toned down so much compared to what they are "capable" of being.......the factories and guys like Pro circuit and FMF bring out more usable power....but take away the longevity of the motor.

Yeah you don't need to look to know where Justin is on the track......lol.

Love to watch that kid ride, always have.

TV missed his insane pass on Wilson in moto 1, Erin talked about it before the start.
Right before the finish they drop off that hill onto a straight that runs up to the finish jump.

(same spot they showed Wharton going down hard in the moto 1 recap.)

Barcia was right on Wilson and launched down that hill on the outside....WFO...all over the bike.

Lands right beside Dean on the very outside and just powers it along the banners and passes him over the finish........Insane.

exactly built for 2 motos so it should be ale to handle what he has to dish out... there was an article in dirtbike magazine about the gieco teams and they essentially said barcia's motors can handle the kid so no worries...

Have you forgotten the rest of this season?He's had a few bright spots but other than that nothing.Dean Wilson is 2011 not Barcia.

i agree, wilson will be the lites champ next year.
barcia will be one of those guys wo is alwys there in the top ten and has a occasional great race to podium.

I've always wondered if maybe they lower Barcia's rev limiter just a little bit so that even though he is always maxed out, WFO, the engine is still within it's safe operating range.

There are advantages to keeping a four stroke on the boil like that. All that whirring mass keeps the bike stable and less likely to deflect off of things. Barcia may not consciously know why he does that but does it intuitively because it works for him and his on the edge riding style...

Not always true. Motoconcepts motors get sent in for a rebuild every 5 races sx and mx. Only one motor has come back before the 5 race schedule rebuild. Vicky Golden is running one of Sipes motors from the sx series. It hasn't been rebuilt since the nationals started.
