4/4/2025 4:16pm They really might come out smelling like roses if they have a ton of bikes already Warehoused. And got 70% if the debt washed. Brilliant

yamathumb Added a reply to Banning tear-offs in off-road racing?
4/1/2025 8:57pm Four strokes don't throw out sparks. The heat of the pipes when a bike falls over is way more dangerous. Yet you never hear of that starting fires....

4/1/2025 8:56pm I don't participate in FTR because of the (my opinion) heavy-handed application of rules - spark arrestors, pit bikes, etc - the list is a mile long. Now tear-offs. This is one more reminder of why I stay away from this group. That said, I know there are lots of folks that like that environment, it's just not for me. Clearly I'm in the minority here, and that's fine. You do you, I'll do me.

3/29/2025 3:49pm The forks sound perfect for me . I like a super stiff fork to jump into whoops & keep driving threw them . A sand corner with a big hump . I blip off a hump get sir & pitch bike left & bounce off the corner hump. Profeshenal cornering secrets. I like the shock plush with slow rebound. RT makes a cool gizmo part 4 older bikes shocks that helps with square chop & traction . I would ride the 450 & break the suspension in. Stopped at 4 ts in Tn. Only 1 out of 4 has laundry.

yamathumb Added a reply to Kawasaki is bringing the two stroke back!
3/27/2025 12:52pm The answer was easy for me. Do I want a frame from 2005 at full price new(no). So I bought a 22 250sx brand new, don't regret it. Would I consider a new two stroke from Kawi with a modern chassis? Yes absolutely. That and a current yz450f are the only bikes on my radar at the moment dirt bike...

3/27/2025 12:44pm Lead is great for valve protection, especially the titanium valves in our motors. It was suggested to me years ago to run some leaded fuel (mixed with a quality pump fuel) by an experienced engine builder. In the early years of the 250Fs it literally doubled the time between valve clearances for me. I was shocked how much of a difference it made.

3/27/2025 9:06am I add lead and castor oil at around 100:1 to my four stroke fuel. Lead cushions the valves. Is it needed? No. Do valves last long enough on a modern four stroke? Also no. The added protection is welcome for me. Is a lubricant in your fuel beneficial? Most definitely.

3/26/2025 8:31pm Umm, lead helps the valves not wear as easily as well.....is probably the best thing you can do for valve wear in fact. Supposebry
