But surely given more time and prior knowledge of US rider involvement they could have really played up the USA versus the world aspect, which would attract more normal people (as opposed to just us crazy MX fans). Most of those people probably just heard that the national was cancelled and thought there wasn't a race. This is just me...

OLD!!! that arguent has fail written all over it! I´ll give you a quick answer: Larger single offroad/MX market for manufacturers to exploit, hence more money to spend in the AMA series.

I'm not sure it'd be a huge issue - the lack of promotion, costs, date and the fact it was the first USGP for a while were against this one doing well. The turnout will probably be much better next year. Different type of event but didn't the McGrath Invitational have a low turnout? I guess that had lots of...

They do tend to ride a bit less aggressively and stood up more, which looks a bit less exciting but is equally effective (e.g. CP). It's probably a result of Everts dominating for so long with his super smooth style and also the slightly longer motos requiring energy conservation.

Yep, sure is. He's a great commentator, knows all there is to know about the sport and says the right things at the right time. He's always enthusiastic too which makes it much more exciting.

This was much better than the normal GP coverage: I guess they used some US cameramen as the Euro ones are appalling (can't follow the riders properly, too zoomed out, missing the action). Also, great result for BT101. He's been my favourite rider since watching him at the IOW GP - winning and doing a burnout on the podium!

I agree, it really was a bit embarrassing. Malin isn't a great commentator (although it's clearly a tough job). He just talks too much, really obvious with Bailey helping out.
