Here is some history information on Saddleback: Saddleback park history by Gary Martini INTRODUCTION So thirty five years after it opened, and almost eighteen years after it closed it's gates forever, it's time to examine the phenomenon that was Saddleback Park. To be honest I don't know much about this but if it is what it appears to be, they may have just reopened (as of March '23) the old Saddleback Park location........for bicycling, hiking, and equestrian use. Amazing! I wonder if the authorities have any idea they may have just unleashed a vortex tornado calling to the former Mecca of Motocross and easily the most famous cycle park in US history. Recent barn find. An almost perfect 1982 XR200R. It took me about 20 minutes to go through the carb and change the oil and she fired right up! Over the past few weeks I've been setting it up for AHRMA cross country racing. Been out on a bunch of rides around our mountain and on my motocross track. Its been an absolute blast! Not sure why I didn't buy an XR sooner!
99.9% done but I did find a set of 13.5 fox airshocks that I might need to pull the trigger on and then I will be done and not spend any more $$$ on it as I went over budget by 200% already
Got my gold aluminum rims, waiting on my rear spoke set then I will lace up the new rim and throw on a new rear tire and it 99% done. Have had a lot of fun building this and the 78 is a 5 speed instead of 4 speed so it really has some pep.
