That sheet looks a bit like what I discovered in my storage shed the other day.
Well, it's a Lot better.
I've a separate shed I use for metals storage. Dry (well, it should have been) , Ventilated, everything off the floor, racking, both horizontal and vertical.
I've a job (some of my CR500 drop tanks - which I swore I'd Not do again) that required some thin - 1.2 and 1.6mm gauge - 6061 in some areas of them.
So, went to the shed. The Thin sheets had top edge contact up against the back wall. Top edge insulated with rubber stripping.
Found that next door neighbor (well, their builders) had put a 'lean- to' roof straight to the back wall of my shed. So, water coursing off it has sheeted down the inner wall, down onto / into the the sheets of light gauge 6061. So, corrosion / marking of much of the sheets. I didn't pick it up as I have grating / drains all around / inside my metals shed so as to have No chance of water ingress / accumulation..........
I'm Not a Happy Bear. It's not only the cost of the materials, it's the time frame to get it replaced, as it's needed RIGHT NOW.
My neighbour(s) are a lovely old couple, the bloke, a very, ill man, who didn't know that the builder had done the attachment - neither did I. I can't bring myself to make demands of them, but I'm ripping the builder a new one, and, expect recompense and rectification. But, doubt I'll get it, other than my dealing with the prick 'summarily' : Bastard.
Enough of my whining - I do love seeing peoples work, and stillwelding's is Always great to see.
This was my first gas tank. I learned a lot. I only completed it at the insistence of the customer. It was only to learn if the pattern was accurate. It’s only going on a garage wall. It’s a copy of on purchased at Cooper Motors in Burbank, of a Factory Maico. I’m making him 5 more in thinner material, which will allow me to bend it by hand (like the original).
