I loved XRs and tried to continue racing them in 77 but finally had to move to the new RM80. That RM was a great bike for Suzuki's first real attempt until the frames broke!

I know earlier that MR50Racer excluded XR75s but I will tell you that those were some of the funnest days of racing. Everyone was searching for an advantage on those because they were just not very fast. My dad put endless hours in them trying to keep them fresh. New timing chains every 4 races, rings, valve spring,ect..... They sounded...

Larry, When you say up North do you mean Northern Cal or actually North as in real winters? I can't imagine Bill up North dealing with winter. I don't miss those long winter at all since I moved to Texas. Bill sure was a trip to travel with though, barely let me take time to eat. I had to run...

Sorry to hear about your mom Billy. Tell your dad hello from me and it was Mendota. Your dad got my wife out of a real jam that night. We had driven for about 45 minutes when Shelley realized she had forgot to load all my gear in the motorhome. We had to turn around and we were so late...

Not sure what is going on with the Spaws. I know Johnny started racing stock cars. How are you parents? The last time I saw your dad was at a night race in Illinois and I arrived late so they were not going to let me race. Your dad saw me and told the promoter to let me ride. It...

Maybe they gave trophies for some places but I know that 2nd was a big plague. Are you sure that wasn't a GNC trophy and not an NMA? I don't remember mine saying Texas State Championship on it either but it been a long time.

That doesn't look like the 1977 NMA trophies. I had a large walnut looking plague that had a blue anodized plate on it that was engraved with the NMA logo for the event. It was actually kind of neat and I kept it for quite a while but I pitched it years ago. DON'T know why but got sick of...

I don't really care about the IA top 50 thing. There are a lot of riders that could be included but it did get me on these blogs for the first time ever. My younger brother called me and told me about this site. Glad you are all doing well. I always wondered where you were.

Congrats on the kids and believe me, you have a long road ahead but lots of fun. You guys need to change the nickname, your mom was so nice and put up with a lot. Mike Theisen was the guy and he is one of the managers at Honda of Houston now. He won that Twisted Sister contest on MTV...
