Thanks Dropbear.

chipnice - to view a larger image, place the cursor over the image, right mouse click and select view image. If you're using Firefox it will open a larger image in a separate window. I don't know if Explorer will do the same.

There's a Todd Bray listed in the YROC "no picture" section as the Dixie Region Champ. That must be the same Bray that posts here occasionally?

To read easier, go to bottom right hand of Explorer and change Zoom Level to 200%.
I've just worked out how to use Photobucket so I'll scan more stuff from our trip to the US in 79. Just gotta find the photos!
I must thank Chris in Victoria for the scans, I'd lost the articles years ago.

I forget who built it ,but there was a trick little MR50 back in the day that looked just like the '77 Type II Honda RC factory bikes. I think it was ridden by Kurt Hendrickson.

Hey NMACHAMP, a couple guys for ya. Was Zip TY or a guy name Jeff Maybery in your era I know they both raced big bike CMC pro class in the mid 80s but wasn't sure if they were ever fast 80 guys?

Ryan Hughes once said in a magazine, everyone hung out Jeff's big protrac trailer at the CMC races in the mid to late 80s.

I just found the NMA AMATEUR NATIONALS thread. AWESOME alot of you guys still have this stuff. After reading through all the results, ya Id say Lowell did a little winning(sarcasticly speaking) on minicycles!!!!!!!!

Even bring backs memories for me , I remember Jesse James lappin my ass at perris. Although if I recall right he got 2nd to a kid named Dustin Evans

Yeah I guess I should of said Ty Davis, just everyone in the off-road racing world says zip ty so its imprinted in me. Mr50racer ya thats him, hes from my town. Rick Hemme,John Hemme,Sean Blanchard,Eddie Hicks were also from my area. I was super young like a 50 begineer but remember being at the local hot spot with those guys. They were gods to me.

Wondering if anybody remembers Shaun Kelly from the Houston, TX area?
Comes to mind since I raced (125s) in that era...
Boy was he fast... I remember seeing him race in NMA events at Rio-when Jeff Ward came over to TX(along with Myerscough, McKay, Whiting and whole host of other go-fasters!)

Yea I remember Kelly.... I raced Rio in 77,NMA Championship If remember correctly he was dicing with Dean Cates, the Dirks brothers, and i think AJ Whiting. Shaun was very very fast on that track, but the thing that sticks in my head about Kelly, was his father who threatend to bring Hendricks, and Moorewood into the swamp and make them disapear.A fun time had by all.

thats funny because my dad ended up punching Jerry Surber that weekend......It wasn't the first time he had gotten into it.. Just one of the few mini dads....lol.. I also remember Shawn Kelly. It rained like crazy that weekend. The swamp could have been in anyone of the turns on the track...
