Happened at the start of the race and the poor guy laid there the entire moto with a broken femur. He was then finally air lifted to the hospital. Still vivid in my mind after all these years.

For frequent and serious injuries, motocross has to be at the top of the list. Thankfully, deaths at the professional level of MX/SX are very rare when compared to auto racing or even horse jockeys. Been following the sport for several decades and can only recall these fatalities at U.S. pro events: Jim West (1975 Saddleback Trans AMA) Jason Ciarletta...
