Ironically it was success in Supercross that led to this situation, when everyone expected he’d be winning MX titles.

All he had was a 1 year offer from KTM. 1 year, that's a hell of a gamble. If it doesn't go well, be it injuries or even trouble adapting, he's basically SOL, no good offers after. HRC made a sweet offer, multi year. More security, and I'm sure it's much more lucrative. Almost a no brianer, now he gets to avoid Deathcross 😁

KTM offered him a one year deal in the US, meanwhile HRC in europe offered him a high value multi year deal. I wouldn't be surprised if he also doesn't mind going back.

I doubt he's regretting going to KTM. More likely that he's pissed about his result and feels like he should have been better

I think they knew, and they avoided the official comment or addressing it because they wanted to use him for advertising with a chance they were hoping they could work something out. That would basically equate to dishonesty, wouldn't it? I mean if we are going to roast journalists for releasing info before confirmed, this is a whole other level.

But if you were riding a street bike they would probably be A-Okay with that. Stuff like that really pisses me off - it's over reach. When I was in the Army people would sometimes say I shouldn't race, yet at the same time you can have a 21 year old come home from a deployment and buy a CBR 900, complete a two day rider instruction course somehow that's okay. Needless to say, I kept racing. Maybe just don't put your footage on YouTube haha.
