11/20/2010 6:18pm Check the color of the spark plug. Next time you ride, warm up your bike good, then go ride hard. Have a plug wrench near, in the midst of cranking on it good pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch. Pull the plug out- should be a rich chocolate color. If its a lighter grayish color you're running...

mxgreg85 Added a reply to Tsubaki chain experiences?
11/19/2010 3:33am Yep, not my first rodeo. All at once, every time. I know that 1 worn component of the sprocket, chain, sprocket combination will cause faster wear for the other components. Thats the main reason for my concern, I don't want my new sprockets to be ruined by an overstretched chain and have to replace all again. If people had replied...

11/18/2010 2:17pm Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll run it for a while longer in hopes of the stretch calming down. Is it spring time yet

11/17/2010 4:30pm Thanks for your reply. Chain slack is correct, adjusters are even. Bike is a kx250f. I know that RK is good stuff, was just wondering if someone had an opinion either way on Tsubaki.

7/20/2010 6:19pm Make sure the rubber on the radiator cap is clean and smooth, no dings or cracks that would compromise the seal it makes with the radiator itself- if the seal is poor, coolant may sneak by at normal operating temp which would otherwise not be enough to depress the spring and spray coolant. The rubber might be a little worn...

12/20/2009 2:25pm I had a great battle with another kid, back and forth the entire moto. After the checkers come out, we pull up next to each other and shake hands. The place where we stopped was a bit off camber, and I was short for big bikes at the time- could not put both feet flat on the ground. His dad...
He pulled off after 2 laps of practice with a clutch issue. His mechanics tested the clutch in pits, seemed ok. Did the sight lap of the first moto, didn't see him after that. I was disappointed- wanted to see the kid race. Not sure what the true issue was.
mxgreg85 Added a reply to RACE BIKE STOLEN AT UNADILLA!
8/15/2009 7:02pm There is a district 3 track called Thunder Ridge about 1 mi away from Unadilla, just barely south on Rt 8. Earlier in the season, this happened to the gal leading the points in the D3 women's class- newer CRF250. There are a lot of trails in the area, it was determined that the thieves parked a ways away from...
He just looked like he wasn't feeling it today. Small bike? Rough track? Only he knows- just didn't seem to be the smooth as butter KW that we've seen before. For the record, I think its great that he came out to race- wish other fast guys who don't usually race the nationals would do that.

8/15/2009 6:10pm Not sure if its what your pic is of, but the whip Barcia threw on the sight lap of the second moto was ridiculous. My dad and I just shook our heads... Same with Reed's on his victory lap- neither looked like they were going to bring it back in time. Were you there when that dude who was knee...
mxgreg85 Added a reply to Unadilla 250 2nd moto???
8/15/2009 5:45pm Pourcel, by a serious margin. Unsure of points spread. I think Barcia was top 10- I was there myself and keeping an eye on him, being a fellow NYer. He had good starts, was running 2nd in the first moto for a while, seemed to fade a bit both motos- not questioning his fitness or speed, track was rough and...

7/3/2009 2:38pm Emig is a good dude and a good mx racer. He is being funny to make an exhibition race more fun. He might have made a mistake when he was younger, as most normal people do. Are your hands clean enough to throw stones?
