Tsubaki chain experiences?

I picked up a Tsubaki chain for a deal, non-o ring, basic mx chain. It seems to be stretching a lot faster that prior chains I've used (DID ert2, Renthal R1). It seems like I'm tightening it every other moto, however I know chains stretch a bit when new then settle down after a while. I probably have 6-7 motos on it. I don't run it too tight (3 fingers behind the slider rule). I'm just wondering if anyone has had one as well that just took a while to break in then was good, or if you can tell me that its low quality and will just keep stretching and stretching- I'll pay up for a good chain before my new sprockets are ruined.

Thanks

Ck yourmanual for chain slack?, make sure the adjusters on both sides are the same, I think 3finger rule is a littleloosemake it 2 1/2, but double ck manual, what kinda bike? 2 stroke , 4 stroke? I use RK chains after the break in period, its good to go, just clean it , lube it, and keep it adjusted, Not cheap , but you get what you pay for !

Thanks for your reply. Chain slack is correct, adjusters are even. Bike is a kx250f. I know that RK is good stuff, was just wondering if someone had an opinion either way on Tsubaki.

There are several different types (models) of chain from them. Back in the day we used Diamond chain, then used Tsubaki off and on (when DID didn't sponsor us). For the most part it is a good chain especially for the price.

If you are looking for a chain that you literally only have to adjust once, get a DID 520VT2 and put it on Ironman/MSR sprockets.

I used a Tsubaki QR 520 back in the mid 90's for a bit. Good chain, but the press fit master link was a pain in the ass.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll run it for a while longer in hopes of the stretch calming down. Is it spring time yet Smile

The big question is, did you replace the sprockets as well?

Yep, not my first rodeo. All at once, every time. I know that 1 worn component of the sprocket, chain, sprocket combination will cause faster wear for the other components. Thats the main reason for my concern, I don't want my new sprockets to be ruined by an overstretched chain and have to replace all again. If people had replied that the Tsubaki was no good, I would have thrown a good chain on there quickly while the sprockets are still good instead of replacing the whole package all over again. Sunstar sprockets, aluminum rear- I know people will ask. Thanks again all for the replies.
