motodude (MD) Added a reply to Most people know a Travis Pastrana

I don't think I have met anyone like him personally. He seems to be one of a kind and a very unique individual. I know crazy people but they don't seem to be in touch with reality or have a false persona. He had his head in the clouds but his feet are still on the ground. Very unique person.

One thing is that divorce and custody varies a lot from state to state. Some states are tough others are not so bad. Make sure you know where you state falls. I spent 9 months going through the court system only to get hosed in the end. I found that is has less to do with the lawyer you get...

Divorced in 2000. The first couple years were really rough as I pretty much lost a lot in the divorce a house, boat, stock, 401k. I had to pay her lawyers fees, alimony and child support. I had a son with her and what really sucked was not being able to see him. The financial loses sting but does not...

Sweet bike, that is some serious power. Does anyone know someone who has ridden the ATK 700cc 2T appropriately called the Intimdator? I wonder what that beast is like? I imagine it vibrates like a mofo.

Welcome to Motodrive. Motodrive is like a fraternity in that you must go through a STFU dumbass hazing ritual before acceptance. Be glad it is not fornication with a goat instead. Sounds like your TV might be the issue. Adjust your speakers or try other surround settings.

Has anyone noticed Reed looks fast in the whoops this year? I saw him reel in James in the whoops section which was shocking. I am sure many of you will say it doesn't count because James was hurt. Which is probably valid but riding hurt is just a fact of life in this sport.

Reed said he was not riding well in the interview. I think he was struggling until he figured out how to jump the triple. Reed seems to have those occasionally and I think this was one of those days. That is bad news for others if he is struggling and still can win it.

I do think it is big news. How many times have other manufactures released bikes without doing proper QA and trying to hide bugs and defects. IE Yamaha and Honda recent valve issues. Eventually there was a recall but it took a lot of screaming customers before they stepped up and admitted it.[/quote:er8bf65s] Its not big news. That reminds me when I was a kid. We use to tow our sleds and tubes behind my friends 3 wheeler. I remember my friend got whipped really good into a ditch. Luckily he was ok. Fun times.

Breaking crankcases is the rumor. New CDI to stop the bikes from idle gear and backfiring wrecking the crankcases.

I mean with all the kits out there is there really much R&D necessary? Build a new crank, rod, piston and jug on it and your ready to go. I think the R&D would be spent on new technologies like EFI not how to manufacture a jug and piston to new specs. This is boilerplate spec technology.

motodude (MD) Added a reply to More KTM144 madness

2/1/2008 9:01am
I think KTM has the right idea here. The KTM 144 has more peak hp but the 4T will have a more broad range of torque. This could be addressed however going with a longer rod stroke ratio giving it more torque and decreasing piston speed. (making it more thumper like) It is funny how the 250Fs have such a...

I don't think he wanted to give anyone (Reed) a mental edge knowing he was dinged up. He really thought he could race the season with this injury. It sounds like he had his knee sliced up good so he was not faking it obviously. Like many coaches in the NFL they are pretty vague about injuries often times not...
