Suzuki is fixing the problems BEFORE selling them to the public.
They are doing the right thing IMO.

Breaking crankcases is the rumor. New CDI to stop the bikes from idle gear and backfiring wrecking the crankcases.

Mxrose3.

Suzuki IS doing the right thing by delaying the release, but it still doesn't change the fact the bike needed more testing time to work out all the bugs. They have to be losing their ass on this.

Breaking cases is not a rumor, its due to the idler gear breaking the case. They never even got out of the warehouse. Its actually pretty cool that MXA figured it out, so the customer didn't. Imagine if they did realeased it and had the replace all the cases on bikes already sold. What a mess.

I see. Replacing these parts is not going to be cheap. Big props for doing the right thing. I own two Zuks so I am glad to hear they are a responsible company.

No big news here,, Zook is putting a new technology out there and it had a bug. They are fixing the bug.

Kudos to Suzuki for putting the EFI on a dirtbike, its about time somebody did it.

I do think it is big news. How many times have other manufactures released bikes without doing proper QA and trying to hide bugs and defects. IE Yamaha and Honda recent valve issues. Eventually there was a recall but it took a lot of screaming customers before they stepped up and admitted it.

I heard they didn't need to replace any parts. Apparently they just need to retard the timing to eliminate the backfiring that causes the idler gear to break the cases.

Actually what Yamaha did is even a bigger deal than what Suzuki did. They released the bike to the public, realized the valve problem was isolated to a certain batch of vavles, but decided to change EVERBODIES valves. Now that is a commitment and a company stepping up to the plate. I don't even want to know what that cost them. H

Honda never stepped up to the plate. They ignored the problem and blamed it on dirt entering the intake tract. Give me a break.

Its not big news. They have a flaw, they are remedying this before production release. BFD, it happens when you go out and do something nobody else has done. They arent trying to hide a thing. Besides most you people making a big deal out of it dont have, nor would buy a Zook anyway. So STFU, doesnt concern you.

Nothing to see folks, move along. The 450 will be out soon enough.

I have plans to buy this bike when it comes out and own two Suzuki’s currently. Considering all the topics that get posted here this is something that interests me since it has some relevancy to my future. If you don't think it is interesting then I have a simple solution for you called freedom of choice. You should exercise it and not read this thread.

Dude, I own and race Zooks too. Have for a long time. I own a Suzuki website that exist soley for the benefit of Suzuki product users. Im not saying their delay is not newsworthy, Im saying its no big deal and I refuse to let the naysayers make the whole thing out to be more than it is. There are tons of people who for some reason get pleasure outta ragging on Suzukis and take delight when a Suzuki product fails. The Zook folks found a problem and they are taking steps to remedy it - no harm, no foul.
