Well the big Maico is back with a bang. Ummmm..click that link, and read "press release's' You'll see that bikes are presently being assembled in Cologne , Germany and imported to the UK and more recently there is also an Australian importer being set up, will they come to the states? Who knows,probly not any time soon, yeah its pretty much the same bike as it was back in '01 or '02 whenever the last of em came outta Holland,and yeah those werent far removed from your "85 or my '86 M-star, still and all itd be neat to see em bring a viable product back on the market, those 500's were sweet motors...

Yeah, like '95, '97 or '01 a "new model" Maico that was on the cover of MXA or Dirt Bike Mag. Know the guy that still has that mag. Just saw it not too long ago. You're right Wardy; it was light blue.
Remember Greg Zitterkopf at the SX in Sacramento at the Fairgrounds when Hannah was Honda; like '82/'83.
Poor Greg's Maico kept breaking the rear lower link or the shock. Seems it happened twice and he couldn't Q into main.

so i guess GL8's YAMAHA had maico syndrome a race ago ...
in all amatuer mx open classes, and no one would be able to use the power and it would handle like a turd so don't matter much lol!!
The '82's were notorious for that, really screwed up leverage ratios on that year , I kept my '81 twin shocker thankfully and opted for the Spyder in 83, then it proceeded to break main shafts and lay shafts like they were made of glass..
