6/6/2017 2:51am Sorry about that. I believe I found the cause of the issue. If you force close the app on your iPad and reopen it, it should download some updates. Normally there's a little notification so you know it's downloading, but you'll likely not see it since that splash screen is in the way. The updates take on average 10-15 seconds...
