I thought Jeffs foot damage came from the US Open on 80's and he wasnt quite the same after that. Always had flashes of speed but due to his foot/feet couldnt be consistently as fast.

I cant remember where or when it was but I remember him passing his brother at a 250 sx race in a heat race. Its always stuck with me because I thought to myself, "Damn! Jeff is going fast! Looking smooth yet aggressive". As is the case it seems when a rider breaks through to the next level of speed they get hurt. Broke his foot I think? Then he never got his full speed back. Kid seemed like he had a kind heart. So sorry to the family.

RIP 801 and prayers to the Alessi family. I remember racing with the Alessi brothers back in the early 2000s at several CMA races, from Santa Maria to Madera. Amazingly talented pair and Jeff was such a character! Ride In Peace, Jeff!

Man. I knew I'd come here and see someone shallow enough to make a snide remark. Thanks for douching the douches ML. Any death is a sad, but a young man suddenly losing life is tragic. Regardless of any screw ups along the road, jeff was a normal dude. Weve all fd up one time or another. May he ride in peace across clouds we can't yet comprehend. The big guy has a plan for all of us and maybe he was called home for better reasons well never know. Praying for peace for his family.

This is horrible news. My condolences to the Alessi family. Tragic. So much death around me lately. Last week my cousin. Two days ago a friend on his Harley. Now to hear about Jeff… just makes you think about your mortality. Very sad to hear. Just hits home.

One of the funnier stories I have involving him: We were talking and I looked away for a second at something happening on the track. I the hear, “hey… hey…. Hey look…. Check it out….” I turn back around and he’s got his shoe off and is showing me how tweaked his foot is from all his injuries. Just randomly with no warning from him. It was pretty nasty but we were both laughing. Jeff was a funny guy.

The Alessi family are as core as it gets. Super bummed on this all day. The whole Alessi family always nice to me over the years. Rest easy Jeff.

We’ve all done some stupid things in our life….lucky for most of us we weren’t in the spotlight. I always rooted for Jeff if for no other reason than Mike got all the attention.…somewhere around 2005ish we met them at unadilla and Jeff let my then 2 year old daughter climb all over his bike and he was genuinely enjoying it. RIP kid.
