I think the gap is bigger now because several guys are out hurt so it's allowing slower guys the opportunity to make mains. They are still "finding their zone" because they aren't educated. It's as simple as that. They dedicated their lives to being badasses on dirtbikes from a very young age, which, unfortunately, requires education to be put on the backburner. They never learned how to properly construct thoughts and opinions into clear & concise speech. Interjecting personal expert experience is the point of a color commentator rather than the play-by-play guy. They’re not supposed to call the action “play-by play,” they’re supposed to analyze different points that they see based on their experience. That’s why the play-by-play will defer to them for opinions and insight. Think Troy Aikman, Tony Romo, Tom Brady. There is a problem with this sport. Seems we think people who are "fast" on dirt bikes are good at everything. What it comes down to is we elevate these past "hero's" to positions in other aspects of our sport and wonder why they suck at it. With the exception of a very few, past champions don't necessarily make "great" anything else. They spent their lives racing dirt bikes. RC is awful

Paraphrased from the rulebook: • A restart shall be no less than 3 laps • if red flag is shown before the race clock expires...restart procedure shall be used • If red flag is shown after the race clock expires the race is over and will not do a restart

Because they are required to run a certain number of laps on the restart.

I have noticed, and not sure why, RC tends to hyper focus on some "issue" or specific race thing that is the theme. It is like the story was how Chase messed it up and that was his big scoop. I guess what he fails to realise is not calling it a foregone conclusion, as we saw Chase claw back a lot of positions. This is what I feel too. I have been and continue to be very critical of RC in the booth and feel he should be out.......BUT if he would start giving real analysis along with his opinion it would be much better. Credit where it is due and honest criticism where it is needed.
