1/2/2014 1:40pm so i recently rebuilt the entire top end on my bike... piston, valves, springs, retainers, keepers, and i had the seats cut by a serdi machine.
while i was getting the exhaust valves into spec i got all the way down to 1.30 shim size... and they are still a tad tight. rideable but theres little room to get smaller...

12/4/2012 11:41pm leave it, its supposed to be that way. almost every bike is... what you can do is remove all the carbon and get rid of the flaws. then go through and make it look as shiny as possible.

9/15/2012 10:59pm why would i need to replace the crank if the bike has barely over 60 hours on it? and ive been good at changing my oil and keeping the whole bike maintained. the valve literally barely touched the piston, i didnt even hear it thats how little they hit....

9/4/2012 11:06am Of course I'm gonna need a new valve, but do I need to get the seat cut again? All the others are good (checked them) what else should I replace. Oh and the keepers were still sitting inside the retainer it's just like they failed and the valve fell out.

5/15/2012 8:50am yamahas usually have the least amount of problems but i cant stand riding them. good all around power look for a kawi or a suzuki. post 2005 only though.

5/13/2012 8:28pm id say go for it but theres things to know about hot cams. they tend to spin cam gears more often than stocks ones.
you could also just get a big bore kit, and then go and get your head ported. i ported the head on my kawi 250 and it made a pretty big difference throughout the power ranges...

5/13/2012 8:21pm what you could do is get the next richer needle which is nhjs keep the clip in the same position. and run a 178 main 42 pilot and 2-2.5 turns out on your screw. ive found that thats the perfect jetting for our bikes.

5/13/2012 8:18pm yeah 48 is way to rich. go to a 45 see if that works and if not drop to a 42. stock is 40... the gas should be ok i run 91 in my 09 and its just fine. what is your needle set at ?

5/13/2012 10:32am yup its still there... used to go there all the time when i was in school. 5 bucks to ride! the track hasnt changed in years so id assume its the same.
you should check out the tracks in marysville though if youre in the area. mmx is the place to be.

so when i go to put the bike in gear after its completely warm. it just stalls out... like right when i click down into first. the pull in my lever feels ok. i cant push the bike when its in gear with the clutch in.
i tore apart everything in the clutch and its all in spec...

when you run it for two minutes is it in your garage with no ventilation? if it is thats why.... go ride it out and around the street a little, if it pops a lot on decel thats a sign of it running lean.
