Who knew hitting a marker was a greater sin than jumping on a Red Cross flag? Glad safety is priority.

I think the biggest issue is the mishandling of the jumping on the Red Cross flag. How they did with Deegan, the rule is clear. He broke it. He gets penalized. Or like Jett jumping the gate last year. It sucks, it is a stupid penalty, he didn’t gain anything worthy of being penalized an entire lap. But hey that’s the rule as it’s written and he broke it. That’s how they should handle it. You break a rule, you get penalized. Black and white. No gray area or judgement calls. But yeah, like you said, the Red Cross thing...

How about a tighter “simple percentage rule” where-by a rider has to be…let’s say within 115% of the fastest time…? That means a 50 second fastest qualifier sets the minimum qualifying time at 57.5 seconds? Something like, to me, sets a higher and safer bar for who’s out there and who’s not.

How stupid are you really? They DID know the risk. They have eyes. They can see the terrain and understand it. They've been riding and doing this for years, decades. You are riding a jagged peak and jumping down off the cliff, while attempting a double backflip..a DOUBLE backflip... You most certainly understand death is a possibility here. Same with moto. You KNOW something can go bad without it being 100% your fault and dying from the outcome.

I will say, I agree with you that CTE in our sport needs to be talked about due to the violent nature and extreme impacts to the head riders experience. But to say Chase’s behavior is indicative of it is a bit of a stretch IMO my man.

There currently is not testing available to confirm CTE while the patient is breathing. Sooo…

Seems like Chase said thanks to Honda to me. Not that it went down perfectly as nothing ever does. I am sure Honda had their own issues too that caused plenty of it. Remember there are always two sides to any story and the truth typically lies somewhere in the middle.

Deegan had 2 opportunities to go but deferred because it wasn’t on American soil. He shouldn’t be given a third chance especially with a plated collarbone. I’m not American but I would have sent jcoop over deegan. Jc doesn’t think he’s bigger than motocross and has had a solid year!
