I just want to take a moment for me.

It's a slippery slope. Within what feels like a few months, this happens...

Well worth the zillion dollar investment. Enjoy.FB IMG 1773214256378 %281%29

I and EVERY other Dad here will SWEAR to you that it was JUST last weekend our little riding buddy got his first bike…a few days ago were teaching him how to use a clutch…only last summer that he out grew his 85…then borrowing your 450 & gas can on spring break…

Time will FLY by and before you can say “WTF just happened” you’ll be watching the best riding buddy you’ll ever have graduate from school…then leave for college &/or the military…then marrying…then starting his own family… and the cycle starts anew!

You’re doing it right! Enjoy those days off every chance you get, savor EVERY minute with your riding pal & squeeze every drop of joy you can, while you can! Lord knows it goes by WAY too quickly & you’ll be left wondering how the hell it went by & got away SO FAST!?!
You are in the very beginning of what will always be “The good ol’ days” for you & your best riding buddy! Know that ALL of us Dad’s out here in Vi-tard land that have “been there/done that” are all envious and maybe a little jealous of you, and we are all wishing we could do it ALL again too!
Enjoy Friend! 😊 👍❣️

I always thought getting this old would take a little longer than it has.

I don't have kids, but man that makes me want one lol. A lot of my buddies have quit riding, but have got their kids little bikes and they go out to the woods trails in their side by sides with them. But when I show up on my bike, the kids go nuts and just want to ride with the guy on the motorcycle. I actually have so much fun doing it. We just putts (?) around the easy trails and I find all these little natural hits, lines, and climbs that you would never notice if you were riding with your fast buddies. Low stress, good times. They learn a lot more than how to ride a bike when they are out there. Conserving energy, learning their limits, not getting in peoples way, being respectful to nature, cleaning up other peoples garbage. I am not their parents, so if they tip over sometimes they look at me like they want to cry, but they usually suck it back up because they know they won't get the mom and dad treatment from me. It's all fun when we are on motorcycles!

Then there are some that have grown into their teen years and they are putting me through the same shit I put them through. No breaks, pure energy. I don't stand a chance. lol. I swear some of those kids could run 3 hr motos with no training and no food.

I'm very happy for you.

That may never happen for us. We'll see. It's all a blessing, no matter what.

Powder Basin up in good ol’ Gillette. Sorry, @PRM31, realize I also didn’t clarify when you initially asked. We left CO a year ago to head back to the Black Hills to be closer to family again. Outdoor tracks are few and far between in this area. Good little winter indoor series that just wrapped up, though.

No worries, thanks! The thought of Berthoud was relevant to this post as that is where I won my first race as a wee tot on an XR-75. Great memories.

What training facility are you sending JR to this summer?

Training will be like my father before me.

Weight the outside peg and your going to get hurt.

Too bad kids now don't get to wear the pages to dust of the "how to ride" articles in mxa and dirt bike.

Elbows up, balls of the feet on the pegs, brake late, and stand the hell up.

I felt like i was cheating when i borrowed a buddy's gary bailey tapes.
